and I'd like to move all of them to one location on a secondary drive (non-OS drive) to reserve small (ssd) drive space and to increase daw/cpu efficiency.. can this be done? if so, how do I point DimPro to that location? So that they show up in the program area of the gui. Scott Garrigus mentions this in Sonar Power book but I'm not understanding which samples should or can be moved. This has been a problem since Sonar ver 7 or 8 for me and I'm just tired of thinking some of those samples aren't accessible. The problem continues to grow when I continue to install stuff (like DSF vols 1-13 and the recent Symphonic Strings etc. And X2 program just installed some others in places without giving me the option to direct them to a preferred location). Not that I'll ever need all of them.. but there's a good 20 gig worth of samples on my C drive. I'd really like to move 'em! Guess I could get a 500gb ssd.. but the $ for those.. well.
Thanks for any help
Dave

This thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2673527 should help you with the moves. The DSF installers have had some problems recently but the vendor is working to resolve them.

I replied to you in the other thread. If you are at all uncomfortable with editing the registry DO NOT DO IT. If you are OK with regedit, the process does work and has been used by others (myself included) for years.
