• SONAR
  • Breverb - Not bad, but I keep going back to Sonitus reverb.

Sure, Breverb has probably got a more varied palette, but I find myself trying Breverb but then going back to Sontitus.  It just sits in the mix better than anything I can get out of Breverb.

The more reverbs I try, the more I like good ole Sonitus.  One of the best acquisitions Cakewalk ever made IMHO.

Have to agree :) Sonitus is my go to reverb, from my limited reverb collection (CSR is the only other reverb I had).

One question that I always wanted to ask.. how would Valhallaroom compared to Breverb ?

There's a demo available. http://www.valhalladsp.com/valhallaroom

I couldn't compare to Breverb, but it's easily one of the best $50 I've ever spent. I'm not looking for new reverbs anymore since I bought that one.

Well, I'm not ready to do a shootout (lolz) but nothing beats valhallaroom for me. I'm trying to like breverb because it's in the box, but though it's a fine verb, I don't feel anything is valhallaroom.

personal preference...

I find that the presets in both of them are too wet. Reverb should be subtle unless you're using it to create a special effect. Fortunately, it can be adjusted.

I agree about too wet, but once set I think Breverb blows the others away. But we all have our own needs and prefs. Life would be way too boring if we didn't....Breverb , Sonitus and Reverberationx64 are all I will ever need in reverbs

Having "go to" effects is definitely a good thing when working on a deadline, but having a variety available for different situations is good too. A lot times it can depend on the specific project or type of music.

2C Audio Breeze for me...

It's just "alive"...only way to describe it...

I have a LOT of reverbs...none compare..to me...
as has been said...it's a matter of preference...

when you tune some of the brightness/dampening down on Breverb, it's pretty damn lush/ungrainy. i've found a setting that trumps Ozone's mastering reverb (for light, gluing/mastering/sheen).

my other favorite, and mostly unknown, reverb is D16's Toraverb. also, Toraverb can be automated in real-time without artifacts (unlike Breverb and most reverbs).

I'm a big fan of NI's Reflektor, have never been disappointed with it on a track put it that way.
