• SONAR
  • Breverb - Not bad, but I keep going back to Sonitus reverb. (p.2)

I did a mix for a client using the Breverb (Plate) for his voice. He complained that there wasn't any reverb on his voice. I remixed it using the Sonitus short delay reverb with about the same amount of reverb. He was happy with that. But, I did some of his other songs on the session with the Breverb (Plate) with about the same amount of reverb and he was happy with those. Go figure.

Sure, Breverb has probably got a more varied palette, but I find myself trying Breverb but then going back to Sontitus.  It just sits in the mix better than anything I can get out of Breverb.

The more reverbs I try, the more I like good ole Sonitus.  One of the best acquisitions Cakewalk ever made IMHO.

I like the Sonitus verb (much better than Pantheon, anyway), but it always sounds kinda heavy and "platey", no matter how I tweak it. I find the Breverb does airy halls and subtle rooms much better than the Sonitus.

You can use Cakewalk FX3 reverb in Win 7 64bit if you want something different where you can place your source in virtual spaces.

I find it amazing that the sonitus plugs still stack up and are comparable to newer offerings.

I think Valhalla Rm and Breverb are similar for my needs. I use reverbs in buses mostly. Solo'd I can get great sounds from both. Breverb has an edge for being modular to PC. Valhalla's edge is the variety of great algorithms. Sonitus always surprises me with great sounds and lots of tweakability. Pleased to have all 3 of these plugs.
