@Beepster: Yes normal support continues, I was talking about actual versions of software, like ´point updates´,´build versions´ and ´quick fixes´ or whatever they name them.

When I bought Rapture in 2007..  the cost to own Sonar was about $850..  I remember very clearly, "not being able to afford it, and soon after I switched to mac."

I bought Rapture @ $199, and now its basically a Sonar, "include."  And I don't care.  The music is not what we pay for the software, or which software we use...  Certainly taste, and preference helps to eventually decide the kit we like to keep, the gear we like to get...

Beepster, I totally understand your complaint..  Its hard to pay full price, and see it go on discount very shortly after...  We are living in strange economic times.  Hopefully you don't carry any resentment and just get back to enjoying music..  its an annoyance yeah..  aint worth sweating over though..   we could all be in the same boat..  it all evens out..  I paid $100 more for Rapture, and another $100 - $150 on architecture waveforms, and a couple of producer beats things..  both of which are, "still in the cakewalk shop," and significantly less now..

Sorry about that, John. I guess should have asked what the original price of Producer was. It was $400 at the time I made my purchase. Thanks... and I haven't seen these thousand dollar + bundles before. I'm curious as to what they contain. Might give me a better idea of things I am currently missing.

Don't ask me the dates but Sonar was never cheap The $1200 figure is what is used to cost to new users. Only in recent years has its price come down.

The bundles were and are curiosities that pop up from time to time with different inclusions. I don't consider them standard offerings.

Stay with producer and things will work out in the end for you.

@cake2010... Thanks. That was definitely my biggest concern. I will have to lock down the system though so Microsoft doesn't do something silly that screws up X1 but that's not such a big deal I guess. Cheers.

@LinearPhase... Yeah, trying not to sweat it. Just got a lot going on right now and apparently I also missed out on the GR5 deal. Bad luck/timing on my part. I'll figure it out. Cheers.

If it make you feel better I got GR5 for $79 last month. I just bought Kontakt 5 for $59. LOL I would have paid more for Kontakt.

@alex... You mean they WON'T accept tech support request for X1 or just no more updates? Oof... maybe I'd better go do something else. I'm getting stressed out.

Cool little trailer but after the initial X1 debacle I refuse to get overly excited based on marketing hype. Cakewalk has NEVER fell short on the bells and whistles. They offer some of the best in the business in that area imo. That's to be expected.

I'm more concerned about core functionality and things like:

Gapless audio

Better integration/routing options between the FX bin and ProChannel (maybe the new PC FX Chains will somehow address this)

Possible vst3 support. Would like to see it but not a deal breaker. Would be nice though.

Copy/Paste synth automation. This has been broken since X1's release and despite numerous complaints on the forum and problem reports submitted, it has not been fixed in ANY of the X1 updates.  (This will be a deal breaker for me if not fixed.  Because quite frankly I find it ridiculous that it's went this long w/o being addressed.)

Better handling of bus automation. Crazy that you still can't properly copy and paste automation on busses.

Improved Browser functionality. There's still some weird behavior w/ the browser at times.

....and so on.

And seeing as how it looks like they've done away w/ Expanded (which is a decision I agree with), I would hope there is a nice upgrade price for those of us who paid the extra money and bought into that whole thing.
