CW offers tech support to all versions of their products.  Now if you try to ask them about Sonar 1 you may get a long pause.

Does anyone know of a pre-release sale ?? I'd buy it tonight based on my past experiences with Cakewalk. Try buying hardware that does the same thing. It'd cost you a fortune. You could easily spend a half million dollars on a recording studio, a couple hundred bucks for software is peanuts.

@Beepster: I think Alex was very sleepy and got confused about our conversation.. In the morning he will agree with us.

@alex... You mean they WON'T accept tech support request for X1 or just no more updates? Oof... maybe I'd better go do something else. I'm getting stressed out.

Just no more updates, sorry to upset you.

Are you using Balance as well? I am on Windows 7 home premium yes. When I called support on this issue the first time they had no idea what Balance was or Propellerhead for that matter. It was very disencouraging to say the least but I called last week spoke with a guy named Dan who had been helping me via e-mail support (though sometimes waiting over a month to email me back) and apparently this issue will not be fixed in x1. I am definately demoing X2 first but if these issues are not fixed I am highly considering going Studio One 2 Professional with a crossgrade rather than Sonar X2 Producer Expanded which is where I will likely go if I upgrade with Cakewalk. I love the Cakewalk plug ins and have not had a single issue with those in any environment I have tried them in.

I'm using the art usb..  its a piece of work..  I'll say that.   Most of audio dropouts come from A.  Having a frozen rewire synth that has not been deleted.  B. having any sort of anti-virus/spyware/malware/firewall running the background.  C. not having certain, "extra windows services," turned off.  D. not having a proper configuration of drivers ( in both sonar preferences and windows control panel )

When I have this stuff set up proper..  I get a rare audio dropout here and there.

What's your entire setup look like?  Asio -- latency?  Control Panel? got some jpegs of your settings?  and your windows startup?  whats in there..  finally, who does your anti-virus?  mcaffee?  norton?  spybot?

Cheers

I was using Avast until a few days ago but before that I had Kapursky didn't seem to make a difference I have had em all and they have all more or less given me problems. As far as Asio-latency I cannot open Sonar without getting a BSOD so sending screen shots would not work. Its currently not even installed because I got so frusterated. I think I may have bad ram though because when I get the BSOD its usually a Cache_manager warning but again this only happens in Sonar no issues running Live or Reason or Cubase LE.

It's all good, alex. I'm just frazzled by some other stuff and this topic wasn't helping. Gonna toss that steam into the strings. That usually makes me feel better. Cheers.

Some good worthwhile improvements on the way.

Please, please, please none of the quality issues we saw at X1's release and please can we have as many persisting long standing issues as possible squashed for good?

If it's in there lets have it working and not just working but working well.

Thank you.
