Nope you missed nothing, thanks for the pointer, however it does not detract from the fact it requires twice as much input as in previous versions.

True, definitely an oversight on their part or at least a limitation, but at least you don't have to choose a different tool this way (until they fix it). Also, I like the fact that you don't have to switch tools between inserting and selecting notes like you had to in X1 and 8.5, so it's got that going for it.
