If you're interested, you could look at the Steinberg website...

Reaper has a very simple system of naming notes in the PRV, which is less elegant, but certainly helpful.

Expression maps aren't VST3 dependant, though the note expression and dynamic contol are.

Sonar does not offer this. Funny thing, I was doing similar things years ago using an Amiga program called "Bars & Pipes". :D

I used to use "Bars and Pipes" also. It was my "go to" sequencer.
Really sorry that it was never ported to PC, except through emulation(Amiga Forever)
What about "Music Mouse" or "M"?
