With X1 after launching the program occasionally I would get the white screen sysmptom for about 2 seconds . It occurs  after the splash and gthe main screen pops up, then white screen , then the main screen again.
 
X2 seems to be doing the same thing, even with the patch.
 
I am running an ATI Radion 5xxx, latest drivers,  dual monitors, WIn 7 pro 64 bit.

I crash not infrequently with a "white screen", but I've never gotten it on startup.

I'm still on X1 and get the white screen on launch. Sometimes lasts frighteningly long, about 10 seconds. It's never crashed after white out though.

Musicman-  You are talking about a white FLASH, not a crash...right??  I often get the white flash on startup, but not a crash.

LOL...if yer not ready for it, it can scare the crap out of you if you're sitting right up close to the screen.

yup... I've seen that one.... I got X1 essentials...  it never hangs up or crashes.... 

Right all, NOT a crash, but a "flash" or white out of the screen.

So this is "normal" in a sense of perhaps some kind of video issue?

So far I have had a white screen and then a crash (on launch), but I realize this is not exactly what you are describing.

I get the white screen flash/pause about 33% of the time on loading projects. I recently cloned my existing drives to the latest and fastest Seagate drives with measured (Parkdale.exe) 170 Mbits/sec transfer rates as I thought it might be down to that. No difference with white flash although X1PE is a lot more responsive. Can't use SSDs as I am still using XP for now.

I never really got that with X1 but X2 does it every time.

Isn't it because there is the VST scanner working in the background while launching Sonar ? 

You could try disabling VST scan at startup, see if the issue dissapears.
