I have normally recorded guitar via my POD XT but want to try Overloud TH2.  What would be the best way to get my dry guitar signal into computer?

- record clean signal via POD?
- plug my guitar into Mackie mixer?
- plug my guitar into my RNP (really nice preamp)

Appreciated

Since you have 3 good options, why not try all and see which works the best with TH2?

I concur but I'd look at possibly getting into what Joe Satriani uses if I could afford it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu5GblYI14E here's Joe talking studio preamps like neve and millenium.

I agree with Mesh IMHO. I have a Pod X3, mixer, and iPB-10 and each has different sounds. I've recorded them side by side and the deciding factor was the song and what sounded right to me. I played around with TH2 and I like it too!

RNP...best option...I've never used a Mackie product that didn't introduce an element of "harsh"...

Pod is ok live but difficult to get sitting in a mix without a layer of "plastic"...

RNP good product...make sure your gain stage reflects what you aim to accomplish...

You're good to go...

I would second the RNP option since it will enhance your signal with the best quality preamp routing.

Would RNP, include audio interfaces with decent pres, I have a Focusrite Saffire 6, or are we talking separate unit all together?
