I haven't used TH2 yet.  Can you give us some points that make you prefer NI?

Hmmm... I'm afraid I'm with you on this one. For me, I find the TH2 interface a bit, erm, well, I don't really like it. I don't like the way all the elements hook up.


I suppose that this should be secondary to the sound, but I find that GR5 sounds fine to me, plus I have the full version. I suppose that if I had the full version of TH2 then I'd be a bit happier, but I don't have a budget for that upgrade.


So, I think for me, it's a case of sticking with what I know, which is GR5.

Have any of you guys tried using TH2 in conjunction with GR? From the demos and stuff I've heard it sound like the clean sound of the TH2 amps is better than GR5 but the effects of GR5 is better than TH2. I'm not sure if they are gonna play well together though or if I can get desirable effects from GR without an amp sim loaded.

Yeah Beep. Might be an idea. And it may be that I still use TH2 for certain tasks, but it won't be my "go to" guitar effects plug, I don't think :)

After I get this bleeding test project exported and up on Soundcloud for everyone's perusal I think I'm going to install X2 and do some tests. I'll post my opinions on mixing the two plugs then.

IMO:
Amplitube 3 > TH2 > GR5

I really like TH2 and wish I had held off upgrading GR4 to 5. May still go for the full version of TH2. 
Beep - I have played with both TH2 and GR5 together and you're right that that may have some potential. They play nice together - just need to find the right combinations to take advantage of both app's strengths.

I did find the more cleaner sounds on TH2 to be quite lovely (Although dealing primarily with Noise Rock and Grunge thats not too much help for me)

I have now also used TH2 in conjunction with Gtr Rig to good effect.

But, the interface is just ghastly...The whole scrolling around modules is way too infantile... Why they made the GUI like this is beyond me.
