I'm loving the TH2 full version.  One of the features I like best is the search function.  Once in search, you can use your arrow keys to go from one sound to another which makes comparisons so easy.  The program is so tweakable that I can easily create any sound that comes to mind.  I still love my Line 6 AX2-212, but the convenience of plugging into my interface is overwhelming.  Guitar Rig is still with me, but gathering dust right now, although I still can find use for the bass settings.

Just a piece of advice as well.... it will help your sound if you use a tube pre-amp. There are many 12ax7 tube preamps on the market at a reasonable cost.

I did find the more cleaner sounds on TH2 to be quite lovely (Although dealing primarily with Noise Rock and Grunge thats not too much help for me)

I have now also used TH2 in conjunction with Gtr Rig to good effect.

But, the interface is just ghastly...The whole scrolling around modules is way too infantile... Why they made the GUI like this is beyond me.

That just shows to go ya'...

I've always thought how cartoon-ish the GR interface looks.

But, I guess its okay if you like neon and fizzy guitar tones.

I agree with the whole fizzy neon guitar tone thing and the cartoonish looking interface in GR. There is no need to scroll in TH2 if you don't want to. Just open the view map and click on the part of the signal chain you want to tweek. Also if you don't like the floor you can change it by right clicking on the floor and choosing another design. For me TH2 is one of those amp sims that you begin to like overtime as you play with it. Once you discover all the functions and how to use them you begin to realize how great it is.

If you don't like tweeking or playing around with amp sims. If you just want to load a preset and go then you may not like TH2 or appreciate all of it's features. It may not seem that much different than anything else out there. I have discovered that the more I play with it the more i like it.

At first I did not like the effects. I hated the way the gates worked. it seemed to me they should have included some of those gates in the heavy guitar tones to remove some of the his TH2 works well with other amp sims. It plays nice with my line 6 effects and Pod farm.

But what I am beginning to discover as that TH2 and the new R mix work incredibly well together. especially for noise reduction.

I was quite impressed with the sound of TH2. I've been using GR for some years and I instantly felt that I never will be using GR again after trying out TH2 for a couple of hours.

Really? My experience was the exact opposite.

It might depend on the kind of guitar you use. For me, my Telecaster sounds way better through TH2 than it does through Guitar Rig. For a guitar with humbuckers, it may be the opposite.

Absolutely. I will do a shootout!  I have a Carvin Tele, a Les Paul Standard.

Also, it does really depend on what kind of music you play too and what you are looking to get out of it. I'll have to really delve in to TH2 more, but not impressed so far... to me, it is on the same level as AmpliTube3. Which is second chair to GR5.

I find it rather odd that they have the signal flow in the GUI going left to right. They spent all that time modeling the pedal and missed that the input is on the right and the output on the left?

First Post doing my best not to make an arse / ass of myself.
Qualifying this post by saying havent really plated with amp sims a lot I have never been friendly with GR
I found it annoying to use and if it was hardware I could of quite possibly broken it.
Not my best quality.
Anyway having said that TH2 was easy, open it up and press go  so to speak
input flow seemed logical  to me sounded as good as any sim I have heard  all good :)

Except

Bought the upgrade full version and now I appear to have one (Full version) that will work stand alone ... lovely
and the version that came with X2 that opens as a VST.
Tried reinstalling TH2 and no luck there
At a bit of a loss if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it

For TH2 Im the opposite in that I like the way the interface is laid out, it seems logical to me to arrange the parts in the way signal flows. There is no mystery in how it should sound and work in doing it this way. As always YMMV...
