I have mine open most of the time. The track inspector is the single most powerful tool in Sonar. That is not including PC. That just knocks it into a new orbit. Sort of a quantum leap.

Combine it with screensets and well its too awesome to contemplate.

Its too bad Mike has chosen not to learn X1/X2. Pining for a revisit to the past is sad and not going to happen.

In X series it's a left click with the clip inspector open. I find it better than the "old" way mainly because I find it easier to do multiple clips at once and once the inspector is open it's simply click on clip - change, clip - on clip change, ad infinitum. No need to keep opening the menu as it's already open.

I think of the inspector as a right click menu on steroids only it's accessed via an I keypress rather than a right click. I have mine floating and hidden so it's always a keypress away when needed.

HTH

Or bind a key on your mouse to I and it's really a mouse menu. A gaming mouse is nice for Sonar, I have a razer naga, 17 buttons on the mouse ready for keybinds  Takes a while to get used to if you have gorilla hands as they are a bit on the tiny side.

I know we all have our own way of working and what works for others well,........ works, I'm not knocking that. I just find it incomprehensible that some find the old ways easier and quicker. Doesn't make me right I hastely add, just bewildered, or perhaps I was missing something in earlier versions.

Whatever, I'm real happy with the way it works now.
