I've run Rapture install twice. It asks if I want 64 bit & I say yes
I have Rapture, Rapture LE and Rapture LE 64 on my computer, but no Rapture 64
So it's not even installing
I have an "old" but no new

After reading all the posts here regarding rapture not installing correctly. I too have had it discombooberated with my install.  It would make sense to have the cakewalk programmers put together a new Rapture install routine that looks in the registry and removes the old versions as well as install directories (you know.. the old if exist then, if not then..) and maintaining the libraries if they exist, and doesn't ask for Dimension pro files or any file needing updating from version 1.2.22 or anything like that. Then providing a clean install of Rapture 32 or 64 where it belongs. I'm wishin!

Thanks for the update Ryan.  Renaming Dimension Pro in the registry and re-installing Rapture finally worked for me.  For some reason several patches in my Rapture expansion packs now have missing wavetables after the 1.22 update, but once I re-install those I should be good to go.

I, too, had a Rapture installation problem (with the Dim Pro update error).

I renamed the Dimension Pro registry folders to  "Dimension Pro BACKUP" using regedit, ran the installation for x64 and installed only Rapture and then ran the installation and installed the x32 version of everything (just in case...something something).
Then I went back into regedit and removed the "BACKUP" portion on the folder name and I now have Rapture x32 and x64 fully installing and registered on my system!
VERY easy to do.

Thank you Ryan Munnis!

Ryan, add me to the list as well. I can see Rapture64LE but not a Rapture64. Grayed out Serial Number, and registering online the feedback message is that it's already registered. Looking forward to the patch on this soon!

Is there going to be a patch?  I can't get mine to work with the regedit workaround!@#$
Rapture is one of my bread and butter synths, and i have clients in tomorrow that have a few instances of it on every song they are working on.  I really wish I would have frozen those tracks now:(

I was having the same problem (Dimension Pro warning, Rapture install never started) and tried the workaround. It worked for me. These tips might help:

1) Check both your 64 bit and 32 bit registry entries. It turns out I had "Dimension Pro" for 32 bit and "Dimension", "Dimension LE", and "Dimension Pro" all for 64 bit. I had to rename all of them in order to get the installed to proceed past the Dimension Pro warning.

2) If for some reason you get the Dimension Pro warning, or need to abort the installation, you can save some time by immediately going to your windows temp directory, finding the Sonar X2 folder, and then copying the unpacked setup files to a temporary location. Do this before the installer terminates, since it will clean itself up. If you copy the temporary setup files files, you can run the setup directly via setup.exe, and not have to run the unpacking installers.

3) Once the Rapture installer is done, run the Rapture app standalone as administrator; this will let you enter your registration code

Just wanted to "pipe in" and say that I too am having the same issue. Hopefully CW will sort this out asap for everyone affected.

The workaround only takes a few minutes.  The longest part of it is waiting for the setup files to extract from the big downloaded .exe files.

If Cakewalk replaces their downloads with new ones, it will take much longer to download the new versions than to do the registry hacks.

If Cakewalk instead provides downloadable "before install" and "after install" registry tweakers (which is the messier approach in the long run), it won't take long to download them, but they will basically do the same thing that you can do manually.  And you will have to wait for them to create, test, and publish those fixes.

If Cakewalk instead creates a new standalone Rapture installer, it will take a while to download, and is somewhat redundant with your installation packages, so if you like to hang onto install files you'll end up with redundancy.  I don't think they'll take this approach unless they already have standalone Rapture installers ready to go which they can make sure will only be used by Sonar X2 (or previous Rapture) owners.

My advice is not to wait, but to instead try the workaround.  If it works, great.  If it doesn't, post your problem here so that they/we can make the workaround more robust.

I am experiencing a different variant of this problem. No matter what I do, I am unable to install the Rapture DLL file in program files/Cakewalk/Vstplugins.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit Professional and have installed Sonar X2. After my initial installation I ran a VST scan and got an error message telling me that Rapture64LE had caused an error and the failure point was reported as "Main Call"

I have edited my registry to change all the references to Dimension Pro to Dimension Pro backup and then tried to run a custom install of Rapture alone.

Towards the end of the install I get a warning message which says: " The installer has detected that a previous version of Dimension Pro is currently installed. Please download the 1.5 update from www.cakewalk.com. This suggests that I have failed to "catch" all the registry entries for Dimension Pro in spite of trying to be diligent and make the changes detailed by Ryan Munnis in this thread. I certainly changed three entries as detailed by Ryan.

I have attempted this several times using various approaches but it never installs the DLL in program files/Cakewalk/Vstplugins. That is the bottom line.

It is good to see that some problems are fixed, but mine is not and I would appreciate assistance to resolve this.
