I had only one issue on my X2 Producer installation - after the install Rapture 1.2.2 did not accept the registration code provided. After reading through the forum and getting some insight, I did the following and it worked fine thereafter: 1. I reinstalled Rapture 1.2 from my original set of files from X1 and used my previous Rapture serial number. 2. I applied the Rapture 1.2.2 update available on the Cakewalk site. Now everything works fine, I'm just using my previous Rapture serial number and reg code, rather than the new one that came with X2. It took just a couple minutes to install and I didn't need to hunt through the registry to do anything.

I came to the same conclusion last night.  I went a little further and deleted any rapture folders I could find and also ran a registry cleaner.  Everything seems to be working fine now after installing 1.2.1 and then 1.2.2.  I did have to install the rapture expansion packs again, but that was no big deal.  Finally I can try the new changes in X2.

I have the same problem as eric paul. No matter what I try, I get told to run the Dimension Pro update which I have done to no avail. Rapture never installs the DLL file.

Follow the directions in lorneyb2's post on page 4 of this thread. It's the 4th post from the top. I get really nervous messing around in the registry but this fix worked like butter for me! I pulled up the registry editor, located the two folders mentioned, changed the names on them, then I minimized the folder so it was still open. I then re-ran the setup and checked only Rapture Vsti to install. Lo, and behold, the Rapture install page came up. I completed the installation! The page came up to register and the registration number area was greyed out! Don't worry yet! Fill in the serial number. Mine said I was not running as administrator. Close the installation after completed. Maximize the editor and change the DP folders back to the original names. Close the editor. Locate the icons for the stand alone versions of Rapture. Right click and choose run as administrator. When Rapture opens you will get the registration page. Fill in the reg number and you are good to go!! I was amazed that such a small fix solved such a big problem! BE FOREWARNED, messing around with the registry is a dandgerous matter! I was afraid messing around in there, but if you do exactly as lorenby2 says, it did work for me. If you aren't comfortable making this edit, find a friend or family member that is computer savvy and have them do it. I highlighted the area in the post and copied and pasted it in to Word. I then printed it out and underlined the info I needed to pay special attention to. That way I had the instructions right in front of me the whole time. Good luck!

Sorry! After changing the names of the folders in the regedit, you minimize the regedit, not the folder. It's early in Georgia, what can I say. LOL

I uninstalled X1 and X2 using Revo uninstaller which goes deep into the restry and eloiminates all folders and traces of every installation. reinstalled X2 64 the latest Dimension 1.5 Rapture and everything works fine

Now if i can only get a clip to open in Sound Forge......Grrrrrrr.

I edited the regsistry to open SF from the pull down in Sonar but the clip does not follow....

my disks have arrived - if I can't install from here my next move will be to call customer service

Except my account lists the disks as "out of serial #'s"
Hmmmmm......

well, I unchecked everything but Rapture on the install from the disks, and I got the wrong version of DimPro message
It didn't screw up Dimpro (thankfully) and it did not install Rapture 64
So I'm off the customer service as soon as I can find the time to spend a half day fixing this

I organized the info spread out over this thread into one post.

I have finally succeeded in beating this challenge following the outline provided by Ryan Munnis elsewhere in this thread.

Every time I tried to install Rapture I got a message telling me that I needed to upgrade Dimension Pro to version 1.5 (which had already been done) and Rapture never installed.

I deduced from this that there was at least one entry in the registry which I had not temporarily re-named to allow the rature installation to proceed. So it proved.....

Once I got properly focussed on looking for the entries in the registry - found them all and temporarily re-named them, Rapture installed as intended. I then ran Sonar X2 as administrator - scanned the VST plugins - entered the registration code and all is well after returning the registry entries to their original names.

Since it may help others, here are the registry keys which I found on my computer:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cakewalk Music Software/Dimension Pro
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Cakewalk Music Software/dp
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Cakewalk Music Software/dp
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Cakewalk Music Software/dple
HKEY/LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/Dimension Pro
HKEY/LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/dp
HKEY/LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Cakewalk Music Software/dple

It seems that missing just one of these entries will trip the installation process up. I simply added the word "backup" to each name when I did the initial re-naming.
