Yay! A quick solution (I hope)

Myself and a few others will be doing a full investigation into this issue. I promise you folks that I will follow up, but alas I need a little rest for the night. I will be available tomorrow however to address any questions on this.

What I do know about this issue already is that some folks are ending up without a SN when upgrading (not when installing from fresh). If you guys want to investigate, you can try adding a "string" value titled "Serial Number" with your Rapture Serial Number to the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture

I'm not sure if you'll need to use your previous serial number or the updated one, but obviously make sure your serial number and reg code pair match with one another.

In any case, I'm sorry for the trouble and promise I will update everyone with more information tomorrow.

I had the same problem until - - - I selected the lasted Rapture version in the browser. In my case it was Rapture x64      

Registered properly with the right plug selection.

FWIW Ryan - a download on my account would be great. I've run so many patches I can't tell which version of Rapture I've got I have Rapture LE 32 & 64 plus Rapture (I assume 32) in my synth menu I'm not hot on messing with my registry even if I knew the serial # I was changing to was really installed Love your avatar!

Rapture won't take the Reg. code that straight from my account. I keep getting error message that it's the wrong one.

You're not the only one Barczar. Have a look at the other threads on this topic and you may fond the solution. I think there is talk about a separate installer for Rapture.

I had the same problem. I don't know what the solution is; it happened that I already owned Rapture so I went back and reinstalled from the standalone installer and had to use the older serial/reg code. I could not get the version installed with X2 to register at all, even though I have (count'em) three separate serial numbers for Rapture. 

I would give support a call on that one. I generally just go straight to the phone, skipping email which takes a day or something. I prefer to talk to a human who has the power to sort it out on the spot. 

I did a search , but didn't find anything. Thanks for the quick replies. I'll be messing with this today until I find a solution. I'll post back if I find something.
