I hope there is a Rapture 2.0..  Hopefully X2 having a free Rapture means Rapture 2.0 is on its way

yeah..  the pricing scheme is off the hook weird...  I paid $199 for Rapture in 2007, and $10 bucks for Producer Expanded..   Let alone buying Sonar First Class up 2 Producer from Studio for $179...

It all evens out..  life's to short to worry bout that anyways
 

I upgraded a couple of years ago and it's one of my most used synths. It annoyed me at the time that I hadn't upgraded sooner I absolutely love it! I was a little surprised that it came bundled now but like you say, perhaps there's a number two coming. That would be interesting!

thing i like about rapture is it's programability, perservere with a patch and you can create really great textures, same with the step, set different elements to different pitches, with the step on each element, theres your arp

Comes a time when they figure that just about every one who is going to buy full price it already has it. Then the no brainer deals and special bundles start appearing. (look at IK Multimedia!)

Well - I bought the full Rapture version about a year ago for around €50,- from a store that was selling out their surplus stock. I am not offended it is included in X2, because for that price I have used this great synth more than a year before the users of X2 got it. I really love this synth. I also bought the Universal 1.20 sound banks, and use the free Muz3um banks, witch are great expansions I can recommend..

Yeah, I'm not complaining I'm really happy I have it. The sound it makes is really convincing and the bass sounds are really punchy. It's a gem;)

IK Multimedia has gone full swing IOS Apps.   I do not see them turning around, and ever focusing on Producers Again.  They are probably selling 1,000s of those Apple Dj Apps a day...

You know?  There's going to be 3 cellphones for every man, woman, and child on earth..  If it hasn't happened already.  There will be, very shortly, 21 billion smartphones around...

IK is financing their App War by slicing, and dicing the prices on everything else.


  As far as Rapture goes..  We live in an, "instant gratification world."  Rapture is not an, "instant gratification synth."

@ Linear Phase.. You are right Rapture is a synth you keep tweaking with. It's addictive - really ;-). For an oldie like me (my first syth was completely self-build, because it was far too expensive to just buy one), this is great...
