Thanks Clifford - I'm glad you are finding it helpful.

Just to add to STinGA's advice  - there is also a downloadable PDF of chapter times with per video contents HERE

I will probably end up with both videos (and Scott's book) eventually but I bought Karl's (FastBikerBoy) first.  Over the past year I have found that there were little things (e.g. AudioSnap) that I could not find answers in any of the Cakewalk, Groove3 and SWA videos (and even Sonar X1 Power - which is EXCELLENT) that I finally found in Karl's FREE tutorials that he so graciously made available.  His detailed discussion included exactly the problem (blah blah tempo out of range blah blah blah) that I kept running into.  He made AudioSnap MUCH MORE usable for me.

The fact that Karl turned out very high quality FREE videos for us - and is a huge asset to the Sonar community here on this forum I wanted to support his X2 video effort.  I am finding that even in the basic stuff that I thought I would just skip past in the videos there are little tidbits that are interesting and useful.  And for the stuff that I am not familiar with (MIDI, synths, etc.) it is going to make getting up to speed on those a lot easier.

As far as the video quality.  This is top shelf.  Very clear video, great use of screen tools to show exactly what he is talking about, and of course excellent audio quality.  As good or better than ANYTHING I have seen.  Much better than most.

My wife overheard the video playing and asked if I was learning X2 from that little green Gecko in the TV commercials.  It took me a minute to get what she was talking about about.  I hope Karl isn't offended but his voice does sound a little like the gecko's.  Let's make that - the gecko sounds a little like Karl.

Karl - THANKS for all of your contributions to all things Sonar.  The videos - both your free ones and the one from SWA - are terrific.

Thanks for pointing that out "STinGA".
I the watched the video with Quick Time but didn't see the little box on the lower right hand side.  Just click in that box and it displays all the chapters  and you can pick and choose as you like.

No Quicktime on Android, and none of the m4v players there support chapters. Also copying a 2,8GB file to a phone or tablet just to watch a couple of chapters is a hassle.

Scott, I've bought many of your books, but with all of the new (and available, I might add) multimedia training tools, aren't you a little late to the party? I mean, your book is months off, no? I prefer training tools at the start of a product's life cycle.

Hi, sorry you're having trouble with the download. I have little control over distribution but I'll certainly contact Chris at SWA for you.

Are you downloading from his site or the Cakewalk Store? I doubt there's much he can do about it if it's from Cakewalk but I'll see what I can do for you. Let me know where you're trying to get it from and I'lll see if I can sort something out for you.

Karl,
Thanks for responding, I purchased from Cakewalk store. I send customer and email yesterday, haven't receiveany respond yet.

Hi KEv,

Thanks for reading my books! I appreciate it. It's up to you whether or not you'd like to buy the SONAR X2 Power! book, but no, I'm not late to the party.  My book will contain plenty of good info and it will be based on the final, shipping version of SONAR X2. Not the beta.

Plus, there are plenty of users that either prefer books or enjoy learning from both books and videos. There's plenty of room in the marketplace for multiple learning resources.

Best,
Scott

Hey Scott,

I'm still waiting for you to provide actual videos for all of the links you had put in the X1 Power book.
You know, the plugin and feature demos that you used to help sell the book but never actually followed up on.

I've commented on this and written you on more than one occasion and all you've ever given was excuses. "The videos took more time than I expected".

It took more time to earn the $50 I spent on your book than I expected too.

That said, I won't be buying any more of your books until you finish your last one.
