Hi Folks...

I seem to be running into trouble with the Perfect Space reverbs. I am always hearing pops and crackling sounds when I use them, it's the same regardeless if I use it on a track's effect bin directly or if I place it in a steron bus and than 'send insert' to that stereo bus.  Is there something I am doing wrong? Hope someone can advise. Thanks.

regards

You may need to change the latency. Click on the info button and then the set latency option. You'll need to find what works best for your system.

I have the same problem with most VSTs when the interface is open and I'm making adjustments. However, with the interface closed and they're sitting in the background working, no problem whatsoever.

PS has its own built-in latency - almost all convolution reverbs do.  Just as Cake's LP mastering plugs.  Convolution, esp. puts a lot of strain on the CPU.  You may have to record at one latency and mix at another to releave the stress on your CPU.

Another thing I noticed on my old dual core system was having too many visuals (esp. the TC Near software for my interface) up and going would send my computer into drop outs.  I had a basic dual monitor vid card.  All those bouncy levels etc. seemed to put a bigger strain on an already stressed system.  My new computer, not running so close to the edge on older projects runs just fine w/ everything up and going.

You just have to know your system and what will drive it to the cliff's edge.  Either that or get a faster computer or more memory or a better sound card.
