  • Still can't scroll Pro Channel!? (p.3)

All I know is this is how it works on "my" system. Hovering-only allows no scrolling here.

If I select the PC on channel 3, scrolling the wheel will move it. If I then select channel 8 for some reason and go back to "hover" the mouse over the PC on channel 3, it will not scroll with the wheel because channel 8 is still selected.

See my bug report above, though.  You will see from that report that simply clicking on a track header (in Track View) twice in a row will toggle whether Pro Channel (in the Inspector) scrolls or not -- no clicking on Pro Channel itself necessary.

That is strange. Clicking slowely 2x on my TV expands it fill view and still no PC scrolling.

Whether I'm viewing Track or Console View.
If the components within the ProChannel inspector are taller than the window it has full scroll function.

I don't have to click the Inspector view of PC but obviously I had to select the track or channel strip (in Console View) to select which channels ProChannel I want to see.

If I select ProChannel from the console views channel Strip then the Inspector view is lost and reverts to the track and down stream bus inspector view.

All this works even if I undock the Inspector - obviously if I extend the vertical height of the undocked Inspector then it only scrolls if there are modules out of view.

You may have a utility installed with your mouse / mouse driver that enables this.  Many have an option to activate the window below it if it does not have focus when you scroll.

FWIW, the Quick Fix patch seems to have affected the Pro Channel scrolling behavior on my system.  Where it was inconsistent before, and clicking on tracks would toggle the behavior, now it is consistent.  Now clicking on a track, for example to change the Pro Channel strip shown, now disables scrolling in Pro Channel until you click on a Pro Channel module.

Perhaps this is intended behavior, but it is a major hassle for workflow now that Pro Channel will be used for more of the signal flow (and there are more modules likely to be there by default, too, thanks to Console Emulation).  It means at least needing two clicks pretty much any time you want to review settings on a different track in Pro Channel (at least when something you want to examine may be scrolled off the screen), instead of being able to just click on the new track to change which Pro Channel module is active then hover and scroll away.

Is there a quick fix for X2 already? Or was that for X1?

Yep, for X2.  See the message at the top of the sticky section of the X1/X2 forum  (URL to the patch, which is only for SONAR X2 Producer (i.e. no Studio, as the changes don't apply to Studio since they relate to Pro Channel), is http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013292).  It seems to fix the crashing problem I was having when tweaking Pro Channel, and it also addresses the issue where Pro Channel modules seemed to disappear.

Great, but as I try to d/l it all I get is error 404 page not found. If I right click and save target as I get this:

SONARX2ProducerQuickFix_exe?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAI43XBK2ZMSVE7TAA&Expires=1348929412&Signature=R9R09igkG74qzUJcm%2bxl9w39ToE%3d

... and it won't save. I even tried deleting the string back to"exe" and replacing the "_" with a "." but no good.

Seems Im having more errors with the fix than the problem it fixes.

Maybe it's telling me something...

It's strange... I do not have any problems scrolling my ProChannel strips whether in Inspector or Console view, even if the track isn't active. I've just tried it, and I can hover my mouse over any of my PC strips and, without clicking in the strip I can scroll any strip I want. No clicking twice for me.

Am I the only one that can do this here?

There is a thread about problems with the download.  Seems there were problems in some areas, but I gather it is fixed now, so maybe try again.  Note, though, you should use the main link to the page and click from there, not the file-specific link you got yesterday, which apparently has some kind of expiration on it (not sure if that was the problem -- Ryan's message in the other thread only said there was a regional problem but it should be fixed now).
