I tried to install Mo Phatt, but it installs to the x86 folder and I don't have the x86 version of DimPro 1.5 installed...

When installing DimPro I had a lot of trouble while trying to get both 32/64 bit versions installed so I opted to simply install the 64bit version...

Now this problem.... The Mo Phatt install doesn't allow me to choose the path and simply inserts to x86 location...

Anyone else?

I guess I should (problem) report this?

DSF has some issues with their installers http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2663494
In the meantime move the files into the appropriate directories after it installs and refresh the DimPro browser with F5.
On the other hand, it could be that the installer is picking up your attempted 32bit install from the registry. You might check your registry for the 32bit DimPro entries and remove them.

I'm guessing this was the time before vista before things got a bit.. well "funky" where it used program data also .
it's a case of installing and moving the files to both the multi samples + progs.. then f5 in the browser.. and it should be fine.

(I have to install the complete lot of them on this pc,  haven't yet)

Hi scook...

Thanks for the help, but neither of these seems to fix it.

There are two intries in the registry...

In Current User it only shows the DP Product Key

In Local Machine it show the serial number and the correct path to the 64bit version only...

I also tried to copy/merge the Multisamples and Programs folders but they do not appear even after a refresh (F5)

'Lotta extra work for a "free gift"! ;-)

Thanks...

When I moved to a new machine, I preformed a clean DP install and merged a bunch of multisample and prog dirs. I have never had the manual copy process fail.

Guess you are down to contacting DSF directly (see the link in my thread above).

Free is rarely no cost, right?

Here's something strange...

the Programs folder located next to the multisamples folder in the x86 dp folder only showed the Mo Phatt program,,,

In the (correct) x64 folder for dp, there was no Programs folder.... Is the programs folder located somewhere else and the installer placed it wrongly?

I did post a reply to Tim in your thread... I guess I should use the email link and notify them. Maybe they will know what is wrong?

Thanks... Free? Always a POV, not reality... ;-)

Programs folder in "c:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro"

Got It!

OK.... Here's the situation...

It turns out the (now?) the program folders for dp is located in the ProgramData|Dimension folder... Not in the Program Files Folder... tho the multisamples are located in the Program Files folder... <sheesh>...

So adding the folders to their respective locations followed by a refresh (F5) in DP and they appear! Now to find out what they sound like! ;-)

Thanks...

Keni, scook, I have the same problem EXECPT when I copied the prpgram data to the "new"correct place and scan (F5) when I try to open one of the new sounds I get "Error Uncompressing Program Data - Program Failed to Load".

All my older samples still work find.

Is there more I need to copy?
