Bari Sax goes even further. Octave plus a Major 6th. Until I sold my Bari (I regret but I moved to Asia and had to).
Flute - C
Alt Flute - G (odd one this)
Soprano Sax - Bb
Bari - Eb - octave
Still messes with my brain, though I understand the physics and the practicalities of the Staff change for doing so.
I've been Working through the Jackson's 'I want you back' Different tabs have different errors. Different players play it on the neck in different positions. So I've been trying various approaches for 'economy of motion', comfort and tone. It's quite a Jamersonesque bassline, who tended to use open strings, but one tutorial used the lower strings more.
On finding the is Isolated bass track of Wilton Felder on youtube, I thought Sonar could help me confirm, some of the notes that the tutorials weren't agreeing on.
Imported full track. Dragged to timeline to align the tempo map.
Imported Isolated bass track - Aligned the track
Dragged to Midi track, and converted to midi.
Played the bass tracks and midi (XLN Rhodes) to check. (made note durations 80%)
Opened Staff View and Quick TAB - Then regenerated
This was so simple. Being able to move note around the TAB view from string to string, is helping me confirm the correct notes (compared t the online mistakes). And work out a consistent approach to how I'll play Having the staff view to help me keep a check n the the notes.
Then chuck the midi track up two octaves to act as a guide track paying unison on the Rhodes.
