does the limit have a number?

Again, someone once said something on the order of 500-600. But I too have never found anyone from CW to give that exact number, They usually just say "use the plugin manager".

IIRC, it depends, is about as conclusive a figure that has been found so far.

I'm pretty sure it's around the 800 mark including any and all the DX(i)'s and VST(i)'s you have installed.

One of those mega Waves bundles alone must take a big chunk out of that.

In my opinion, the plugin manager is no real solution, since it introduces the need for manual maintenance when new plugins are added.

Is there some way to disable the message ?

Will the same method of disabling complaints from sonar work with disabling complaints from my wife?

NO!!! The complaints from your wife are always justified.

See the difference Mooch?

You'll get the hang of it after awhile, it's early days don't forget.

And we will also wonder why you spend way too much of your life collecting stuff you cannot possible use.

I find that statement funny as the time required to collect any plug amounts to minutes not hours, days or weeks. The time to collect my extensive list of plugs is probably on the order or 24-48 hours of actual work since 2006.
Common misconception.
The short bit of time actually downloading is only part of the time spent acquiring: Becoming aware of such, researching such, best price, payment, user name/password for sites, billing, accounting, serial numbers copied/lost/requested, how to install, ....

And then the rest of the lifetime costs including maintenance: watering, dusting, pruning,....

Did your wife install without administrator's permissions?

Everything has a limit at some point.... and with plugs.... every one you add requires a certain amount of processing power to allow it to run properly and in real time.

When the computer's ability to keep everything running has been exceeded..... you might get such a warning.

Personally, I have never seen that kind of warning because I try to use as few plugs as possible and use busses for plugs that will span several tracks.

You might want to rethink how and why you are using a certain plug.
