Several people have stated they think BREVERB has some similarities in sound to the Lexicon Pantheon plugin that came with Sonar 8. At the time I didn't find much use for Pantheon, feeling it was often too "metallic" and too susceptible to being taken over by sibilance in vocal tracks.

I've since learned more about how to use it and like Pantheon on strings and pianos where I want "lush" reverb. Vocals too if I put a de-esser in-line before the reverb.

But I still haven't fallen in love with it like some have, so I'm wondering. What instruments/styles do you really like Pantheon on? For those that love Pantheon and have X2 how different/similar does BREVERB feel to you?

Hoping you guys can jumpstart me a bit in using these reverbs more effectively.

I've used a lot more of the UAD reverbs lately (EMT 140, EMT250, Dreamverb, Realverb, etc. Haven't sprung for the Lexicon 224 yet as budget for music gear is tighter now.) I'm hoping that with the Pantheon and BREVERB I may fill that "space" without buying the 224 UAD.

Peace,

Tunes

I like the pantheon. I do miss it but I was wondering cant you load sonar 8 and just copy the .dll file to the 32 bit folder? Wouldn't that work? I do own the full version of breverb and it is nothing like the pantheon. However maybe with some tweaking you could get it to sound like the pantheon.

I installed the Lexicon Pantheon from my 8.5 disks, works fine in SONAR X1 64bit. It is a 64bit DX effect.

I did the same scook. All this talk about BREVERB and Pantheon made me start to miss Pantheon so I had to install it to take a second look.

At this point I think my favorite trick is using on a vocal reverb bus with the Pro Channel EQ set to Pure and the high shelf up a dB or so at 5k, Gloss turned on, and putting a de-esser before Pantheon.

This gives some great air without ridiculous sibilance.

Anyone else have some favorite uses?

You do not have to perform a complete SONAR install, use the custom install option and select what you want to install. I guess you could try to copy the dll & chm into the shared plugins directory and run regsvr32 (is there a different 64 bit version of this I have never added anything by hand) but I used the 8.5 installer.

Put your Sonar 8 disk in and use "Custom" or "advanced", whatever it is called.
deselect everything except for the desired vst plugins/pantheon.
The pantheon will be the only box checked for the entire install.
After the installation is complete you will have a stray Sonar 8 folder in the Cakewalk folder that can be manually deleted.
I had just gone through this procedure a few weeks ago while playing with win 8.

I think Breverb is in a different league than Pantheon. I would compare Breverb closer to Vahalla Room or Wizooverb in terms of quality of sound. All are different and I love/like them all. Breverb will get a lot of use here because it sounds so good and is modular to the PC.

Don't forget Sonitus Reverb. A high quality and versatile verb that's been at our fingertips for years. And of course we have Perfect Space. I don't think I will need any additional reverbs at this point.

I tried this with my sonar powerstudio DVD and it didn't work what seems to be the secret. I have vista so is that version going to look for sonar 6 or will it work with any future version of sonar?
