Start a new project in X1 and each track had a default ProChannel rack preloaded.
 
Load an older project into X1 and the ProChannel rack would be empty.
 
Some didn't like this but some of us did, so we made "empty" presets from these that could be loaded into future projects if we didn't want the unnecessary load of unused PC racks.
 
Apparently X2 does not allow for empty PC racks. I tried loading an empty preset into it and it does NOT work. The default rack is still there.
 
If we turn off the PC module in the console view menu does that disable it completely? If not, can we have our empties back? Please?
 
I also see when a track is muted and the PC modules are "off" the compressor needle still moves like its processing the signal when there should be no signal.

If you're using a template, the new project will start with whatever is in the template.  Thus, you'd have to modify the template and save it to get that to change.

If you're inserting a track or bus, though, it loads whatever SONAR's default for tracks or buses, respectively, is.  You can easily modify that in X2.  Go to a track or bus, right click on a module you want to delete, then pick Remove module from the popup menu.  Repeat until all modules you don't want there are gone.  Note that you can't remove the EQ.  Once you've got what you want, right click somewhere in Pro Channel and pick Set as Default for Tracks.  Then do a similar thing with a bus to set your default for buses.  That default seems to persist across SONAR sessions and across templates (i.e. it's a SONAR default, not something tied to a template or project).

I found a way to make empty ProChannel as default in X2. However, empty preset does not work for me, either. I add tweak in the next Duckbar. :-)

There is no load if the PC is not engaged.

I tried to verify this before writing because I had an instance where the Compressor meter was moving when the PC was OFF and the track was dead. I thought this was weird. However, just now I tried to re-verify it and it doesn't move, so you must be right on that. Just another glitch I guess.

That's just it. The template is empty until you load it into X2. You can remove all but the EQ module so it will never be totally empty.
