I sent in a requset to reinstitute the edit - Split and edit - bounce to clips key bindings back in  X1c. I got this email today and am in hopes the 1st update of X2 will have it included. Very cool, as I use these alot w/ my AlphaTrack. Thanks again, Cake!! (and I've been asked more than once why I use Sonar - Duh!!)

CWBRN-5968 - Report Details

Name: John Shepherd Product: SONAR Producer Version: X1c Status: Fixed Summary: Missing key bindings in X1 Description:
  1. your steps below . . .
Expected Results: Apparently in X1, both of these are removed from the edit window, and have no key bindings associated to them now (Edit/Split and Edit/Bounce to clip{s}). Actual Results: I don't understand why they were omitted. I'd like to see these reinstituted in X1, as they are workflow/speed helpers to me. Provided Specs:   Audio 1: RME Audio 2: 9632 Driver Mode: ASIO Operating System: Windows XP 32-bit Reproducibility: Reproducible

I left out the fact that I assign both of these to AlphaTrack and use the 1 botton press very often when tracking. I'm kinda surprised this was listed as 'under investigation', as there's nothing to investigate.

I really hope these functions can be assigned key bindings, whether they must be reinstituted in the edit window, or could be placed in the tracks or clips section of a track. Please advise. Thanks very much, John

Do you folks think this will be included in X2 since it's not in the maiden release? Thanks, Shep

That's awesome, Shep. How do you assign a key binding to the alphatrack. I have an alphatrack which I badly under use. Thanks!

Click 'Utilities'. If you've got AT installed, it shows up at the bottom of that dropdown. Click on it. Window for the 8 possibilties opens. Click on each one, all assignable possibilities are waiting for you to enjoy. I love AT. Fill up 8 and save it with a name. Being able to push 1 AT button have a clip/track bounced, or the split window open up is really workflow awesome for me. The ribbon click on the ends to jump marker to marker is great, too.

I have ones for: Track Audio, Track Midi, Edit Audio, Edit Midi, Mixing, Mastering... With all the plugin parameters readily available,  control of them using the flip button for fine control w/ the fader makes realtime changes very easy and accurate. I have thought more than once to buy a spare, but i have concern that as time goes by, so may support for it, especially in OS.

PS - I would love an answer from any of the fine Cakewalk masters (Seth, Andrew, Noel,...) in regard to this being implemented into an update of X2 would be awesome and much appreciated. Enjoy, Shep

Edit - Since X1 my AT has to be plugged into a USB3 port, or the device is stopped as unrecognized. Works perfectly in USB3, but YMMV.

It means there's not a key binding for 'split' or 'bounce to clips' to make them assignable to Alpha Track.

Jshep, could you tell me how to use ACT with my alphatrack? I tried changing it to Plug-In Mode, cakewalk ACT, but that didn't seem to do it.
