Hi,
A week or so ago, I was asking opinions about "flat response headphones" well decent monitor
and mixing phones, and most recommended Audio Technica ATH-M50's, well I got them today
and they are fantastic, I'm glad I got them, they are a lot truer than my Sony MDR 7506's, (I've
just put them on ebay) so thanks for all your input guys.

For a while I liked the sound of the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros to the ATH M50s. I still find the Sennheiser ones more comfortable for long hauls, but the ATH M50s are a little truer and translate better.

Congrats on a great purchase!

Peace,

Tunes

DUDE!  After reading all this, I went to Amazon to check it out.  Found a brand new pair sold by Amazon for $130—BUT I had points on my Amazon credit card and got them completely free!  Sweet!

Should be here in five days.

PS That is why you pay for hotel, rental car, or Disney tickets on vacation with your Amazon card.

Why not those borring monthly bills too? I put everything on the card then pay only one bill at the end of the month.

I pay for almost every household expense on my Amazon card... and every few months I get something for free.

I got a pair of Bose in ear monitors for free after I bought a new HD video camera using my CC.  Didn't even realize I got "points" for using the card until a CC rep pointed it out to me...!  Nice surprise.

as I heard it straight from Guitar Center 2 days ago the AT stuff is being discontinued probably coming out with new models. I got my ATH m20 yesterday from Amazon for $25.48 they are $50 at GC but where $30 there a couple weeks ago go figure.

I've got some new 'phones too, just got them on the way back from the bank. But my local music store, Dawsons, only had some KRK headphones in, so I got me some KNS8400's.

Frequency response looks okay at 5Hz to 23 Kz.

They are quite light too, noticeably lighter than my current DT250's.

Sound wise... I'm not too sure. They don't sound that much better than my DT250's really. But I've got them now, and they are a little bit more comfortable, and I'd had the DT's for over fifteen years. And they had been crackling a little bit when driven hard, as though I'd damaged one of the drivers or something.
