I'm planning on using these two as one stretched desktop screen rather than two seperate ones.

Rats! for a moment I thought maybe you wanted to sell them... cheep! Oh well.

But now that the X series GUI is a success, and we're stretching our screensets across multiple displays, maybe, just maybe we can convince Cake to modify the Control Bar so it can display ALL the modules at once.

As it is, there are 3 modules that are always (off screen) no matter what you do.

Wouldn't that be a great addition to an otherwise great layout? It could even be scrollable for screens unable to display the whole thing.

Can we have this? Maybe? Please?

Feature request, anyone?

Thanks,
Steve

That's the way to do it for sure.  I'm using a 21.4 inch..  (really great buy from costco, it was a floor model.)  If I walked in to costco and saw a 27 incher, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat

I know exactly what you mean but i use 2 stretched out and works well for me as i like to see all the Console whist mixing down :)

have two 24" monitors side by side but only turn on one now with X series.

inspector shown, browser hidden (except when in use), control bar hidden 95 % of time, judicious use of keycuts, console view in multidock, it's all good.

I wish the default keycut from Prochanel inspector to track inspector was easier than ctrl+I

Yeah I think the console view is one area that could do with a little customisation ability.

One tip I did discover while working on the videos is that a quick(er) way to move a module on screen if selected but off-screen is to deselect and then reselect it. It'll then replace the last visible module. I'm not sure whether that's by design or not but handy all the same.

I have 2 x 28" Monitors.

1 is for Console view alone and the the other is for everything else.

I've always been a huge advocate of more than one monitor, I even have three on my system but since the introduction of X1 with screensets and the "instant appearing multidock" I've found that without intending it I've drifted to mainly operating on one monitor.

I've just ordered two new ones as my system is a bit of a monitor mis-match mess, i.e. all different sizes and resolutions and thought long and hard before I ordered two.

It dawned on me that I hardly ever use them both now as I did in previous pre-X1 versions. I found them almost essential then but now they are a nice luxury. I'm planning on using these two as one stretched desktop screen rather than two seperate ones.

Has that happened to anyone else?

I've been using and recommending a single monitor the whole time.

I use SONAR 8.5.2 and never found a need for more than one monitor, plus I find the practice of opening and closing windows makes it super easy for me to keep track of which window is which. For example; I don't have multiple instances of Sonitus EQ open at the same time so I actually know which track I am working on when I make an adjustment. It seems fast and easy.

Why would someone want to have extra big things between them and the speakers? If I did film sound I'd have an extra monitor back where the speakers are. I understand why the film sound post people have that type of set up, but I can't figure out why a musician would run a setup that has all the extra surfaces between you and the speakers.

A single display monitor just sounds better.

Each to their own. I found earlier versions of Sonar on a single monitor a nightmare for the way I like to work.

Not sure what you mean about monitors (screens) between listening position and monitors(speakers). Surely the screens are between the speakers not in front of them?
