• SONAR
  • X2 - Is it possible to keep an options window open until ALL changes have been made?

Take this situation in the Track View Options for example:

I want to change three settings for my Playback Meters:
  1. Change the meters' range from -24dB to -60dB
  2. Turn on 'Hold Peaks'
  3. Turn off 'Lock Peaks'

The only PITA way I can see to do this is to open the dialogue from scratch three separate times, because once I click to change any one of the settings the options screen disappears.

This is not what I call speeding up my workflow at all

If this rather laborious process is the only way to do it, would it not be a good idea to:
  1. Allow us to use the Ctrl key to change more than one option before the window closes
    or
  2. Have an 'OK' button added to each options screen so we could make the changes and then click it to close the window

Again, apologies if I've missed something obvious

Thanks in advance

Yeah, I'm with you. It almost would be better to be confronted with a single dialog box with these options as tick boxes with an OK button to close. Perhaps even a preferences save/load option?

I'll have a look at the Reference Guide just in case we're missing something here...

If it turns out it's not possible, I'll put in a Feature Request for it.

I would have thought it would be pretty easy to implement.

Steve, that was my big complaint in X1. Just changing meter settings was a pita. I've put in a couple different feature requests on this one. Maybe in X3.

Well, since Cakewalk has an ear to their customers (cakewalk rep post on facebook), I'm sure a feature request will simply do the trick.

BTW, I agree with Straummy, this a PITA.

A workaround would/could be to modify/create a "normal template" with your preferred settings.

That's exactly what I've been doing all afternoon mate - setting up my shiny new X2 templates

I'm with you, Strummy.  Even though I'm a few versions behind.

Wow. All afternoon? That's preposterous. That's insane. That is just plain wrong. What a waste of time.

You owe people (me mostsly ) tracks.
