I'm so glad to see your post about this important issue as I have been having to find a way to work around it since I just jumped from SP6 to X2.  The current preset behaviour in which the entire ProChannel is affected when loading a preset can be limiting and I think more and more users will be annoyed by this shortcoming.

I do want to say though that with X2 there is so much that is right and very little to find fault with, so kudos to all the Cakewalk crew for that!

I have a folder full of QuadCurve presets that I took the time to painstakingly match to the various settings on a hardware API 550A eq.  The kludgy work around I've been employing in order to use those presets is to load one in to an adjacent tracks ProChannel and then manually copy the knob settings to the desired PC strip.  It works but it's a nuisance to have to do it this way.

The capability to load/save presets for individual ProChannel modules would be a very worthwhile feature and I hope it will be implemented ASAP.

Do you want to know a better way?

With one "source" track set the way you want, just ctrl + drag from the EQ plot in Console View to your "destination" track

About those pro-channel presets ---  when you download them, where do you download them - what folder so that ProChannel picks them up - or do you create a separate folder for them?  Please advise - thanks.

You should find them here

C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X2 Producer\ProChannel Presets

but it can depend on how you setup Sonar

Yes indeed. On one of my systems, they are in

D:\SONAR X2 Producer\ProChannel Presets

Haven't checked the other one yet.

+1 to OP

Apparently we need more feature request submitted for individual module presets. I sent mine in some time ago...

Thank you very much for that Jonesey of Bristol.  That will work for me some of the time.  Those API eq presets I mentioned are for one frequency band per preset though, such as "5k +9dB", "100hz -12dB", etc.

Do you agree that being able to drag-and-drop presets from the browser would be the ultimate solution to this?

That would certainly cut down on the added clutter that would result from having the preset window and associated buttons in each module.

I was honestly a little surprised that effects presets weren't part of the browser's functionality out of the box.

Yes, absolutely.

If you haven't done so already, fill in a feature request.

The more people that ask for it, the higher up the priority list it goes

Hey Jonesey, I would never have thought of that, being able to drag from the little QuadCurve window. That's fantastic, and thanks :-)

And another good idea skiffcapt, dragging from the browser.
