Ok must vent now.

I have had about four crashes since installing X2, but today's was a doozy.  Just to be on the safe side, I have been saving after all important changes and using autosave also.  After doing a file export today, I went to save and close the program and X2 says it cannot save the project because there isn't enough space on the disk.  (There is, BTW, about 300 GB free on the disk).  Then Sonar crashes.

Then, when I try to re-open the project after re-booting, I find that the file is corrupted.  AND the auto-save backup is corrupted.  AND safe mode doesn't work.  AND opening the file crashes Sonar again.

All my mixing, automation, etc gone.  I am this close to giving up on this program.

Well, X2 is not supported on Vista.

I am one who is going to take the chance, but if it does not work correctly I can't complain, however somehow it seems there could be something else behind your problems like a failing hard drive.

What did you expect?

I know others (including Craig Anderton) have posted here that X2 is working great for them on Vista.  So it certainly could be completely unrelated to the X2/Vista combination.    However, be that as it may, it still is an unsupported OS...

Cakewalk posted that while it is not supported, it seems to be working.  I am not sure Vista is the issue.  Maybe X2 is the issue.

The point is, it is not stable for ME.  (And X1d was)

Did you have any issues like this with X1?

Nevermind.....(just saw your post)

If memory serves, that "out of disk space" error could be plugin related vs. the core app.

I've had one crash with a project that was created on 8.53 with X2 and Vista64. Other than that, it's been a safe work horse. Robust.

I use a delta 1010 audio card that supports Vista64 SP2 and I imagine that is hugely responsible for X2 running smoothly here.

Side note - X2 64 is more reliable on my Vista system than running at 32 bit. I was reluctant to make the switch from 32 bit but I'm glad I did.
