I have to admit, of the few things I've tried here I cannot reproduce them (yet).

Suspected new bug - I've got some automation recorded on a bass track - I open up the automation lanes and remove it. It appears to delete successfully however when I go back to the track and expand the automation lanes again they are still there. Anyone else seeing this?

I've found a workaround - right click on the envelope and delete it - that seems to work OK.

For clarification. Deleting an automation lane just removes the lane, not the automation. Deleting the envelope, on the other hand, removes the automation.

Also I noticed that you can remove them all except for the EQ

Another "Very Minor Nit...™."

It's my understanding that this is by design and not a bug at all. Searching this forum using google should give you some "hits" as this was discussed in the past.

Indeed this is also by design. Wouldn't want to break the in-line EQ :)

So,right to it,ctrl+click,to copy clips is very weird,with a project I'm working on,I get this odd ghosted image of the clip[or "selected section of"] and it keeps NOT going or "dropping" where I want it,it ends up sometimes way off,like almost 1/2 a bar from where I'm trying to drag it to,also with cross fades I never wanted which I constantly have to go back and "erase"....odd and annoying,as I'd just got a solid handle on such rudimentary things in X1,so I may do that sort of editing in my reinstalled "first version" of X1 from the DVD.

Also I try to drag a clip[or "selected section of"]and,successfully move it,and then find later it has moved "back" to where it was before,but THAT only happened once,it's the"ghosted-where is it going" thing that's pretty annoying.

Iv'e had NO CRASHES since reinstalling X2,so I'm very pleased with that,but simple editing of clips just got,seemingly a LOT harder.

Yep,I just went back and fixed some of the edits,I was having so much trouble with[while using X2] in the "First version of X1",and I found it way way easier,so it maybe I'm not "up with the smart tool changes yet",but wow,it was MUCH easier to SEE,what I was doing as well!,and I like or am way more used to the ability of "clicking in the middle" of the clip to select it,but again,it was So much easier to perform the "simple clip edits"in X1,for me ATM.
Bob
EDIT: Yes,now I fixed what was sooo simple in ole X1,I definitely think this is a "used to the OLD way" thing,and it takes time to deal with change.....I was surprised,as X1,was my "first ever Daw",so I guess I'm "amazed" at how much the "new look",and "tool behaviour" freaked me out,I think I understand a little better how Sonar "8.5"users,were so thrown,by X1's totally different look,when I had[over now -hopefully!] so much difficulty,with just "color changes",and clicking!

  thanks Ryan - makes sense and I understand why its like that but I did find it confusing. I'm not sure if there is something which could be done in the UI to make it clearer to users that they are just 'hiding' the lane rather than removing the automation envelope?

Not sure how much of a help this will be to everyone but it is worth checking each download to make sure it isn't corrupt - check your md5 sum just in case

I won't read this whole thread, but I've had one white screen when I was messing with the nodes in the eq on pro channel. I get the console emulation greyed out pretty often, but it seems to come back if you turn things on and off. I closed the pc and opened it up on another track, closed that and re-opened the greyed out track and it was back but turned off.

1 crash in w8-64 when copying/pasting clips:::

A bug fur shure:::::

Insert audio track     (do not open take lanes)
 copy clip to track      (using blend old and new)
  copy another
    copy another
Open take lanes               (another menu!!!)
   3 take lanes with clips

Close take lanes
  copy clip to track

Open take lanes
   clip is stacked on take 1   (if track does not have focus)

This is NOT acceptable:   clips can be accidentally erased, lost under longer clips.

No way to SHOW LAYERS in take lanes.

This is inconsistent. This is a bug. Dropping clip on track should result in new take lane.

And:::

When the take lanes are open, clips CANNOT be dropped onto the "track." Only on the take lanes.

This is not acceptable.

Dropping a clip on a track should default to creating a new take lane, whether the take lanes are showing or not.

Have I missed how to change this "default" behavior?

I had a bunch of white screens when I first started using X2 but after tweaking my Asio latency and doing a few performance tweaks to my computer they've pretty much disappeared.

The only issue I have now is an intermitent noise that starts whenever I use the browser or make changes to some of the PC FX. Sometimes it goes away after a while, other times require a shutdown and restart of the project. Hopefully I can figure out a solution because it's pretty annoying.

Also, X2 seems to be a bit more of a resource hog, projects that didn't faze X1 send the cpu meter in X2 into the red. Very strange.
