Views in the dock sometimes quit drawing (e.g. event list and tempo). Instead, when the tab for that view is selected, a light blue rectangle with the title of the view appears but the previous view is mostly still visible.

It's not my list, it's out list.
Sorry, no offense, just wrong choice of word... our list it shall be : )
what I ment... I rememeber there where some threads about Melodyne not working well (if not at all) as a clipbased effect (kind of like V-Vocal) in Sonar.  So not exactly related to X2...

Just yankin' yer chain.

I've had no probs with Melodyne as a clip based effect. But I have Editor not Essentials.

Editor here too ...  but  I'm relativly new to Melodyne, and still have to figure out the most efficient way to work with it in Sonar (No ARA support in X2  :(  ... Hey, that fits y... our topic!!! ) At the moment I do most editing in standalone mode to be on the save side.
...mayby you could refere to some information that could help...? (...oh, now I'm drifting away from the topic of the list..)
have a rockin' good end of the weekend!

Not much to say re: Melodyne. Ever since rev 2.1 it just works the way I expect it to.

I set buffers to 1024 (I work in ASIO). I apply Melodyne to a clip. I edit. I bounce to track. I delete the old track.

Never a crash. Never a bad track (sans that it's me playing or singing).

Most of my crashes seem to happen when adjusting the master volume under certain conditions as well.  Seems that after browsing loops its more likely to crash when trying to change the master volume.  Frustrating.
I have not narrowed it down yet to anything specific.  I am starting to suspect that its caused from a memory/resource leak.  Those can sometimes lead to crashes at a later time after the leak and can be difficult to replicate.

Some crashes have Sonar asking about saving my work and sometimes not.  However, I have not seen it properly recover anything I was doing when it crashed :(
I have the same issues with the task hanging as well.  I can eventually kill the process but it takes a few min sometimes

I think I found a bug but I need confirmation. Try this: In PRV insert a couple of patch changes in a clip via the events list. Play the clip. Now switch to track view by either hitting D or clicking on the Track tab. When I do this I get a partial track view and partial piano roll view and a series of vertical lines that are generated when I move the mouse. And then Sonar usually crashes. Anyone else get this?

Arpeggiator Preset prev/next buttons don't work after losing focus. Minor issue, but huge pain when surfing the presets. If Preset dropdown has focus, prev/next jump to first preset in first section of presets category.

I've seen this, too.

Yesterday I spent the whole day setting up a 'Normal' startup template that I configure as the startup project.

I set up the Project Info, Track descriptions, all the initial Prochannel tracks, my 5 favorite VST synth tracks, custom track icons, screensets, track heights, Control Bar layout etc. etc. All that icky stuff that you do once and forget it.

I had a few crashes doing so - I think 2 or maybe 3. Each time Sonar task could not be killed and the 'Analyze wait chain' showed nothing abnormal. Two threads were running in wmaud.sys, I think, in the ASIO drivers. I did not get a crash dump, but I do have WINDBG installed so it intercepted the crash. '!analyze -v' to get the stack analysis did not give a stack trace - nothing I could interpret, so I disregarded it and restarted. I guess the stack got clobbered.

The crash dump reporter for Cakewalk did not run and no MINIDUMP file was made in C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\Minidumps.

The next time this happens I'll investigate more closely.

One thing I noticed is that the new Smart Grip Snap to setting always seem to get reset to 1/2 note. I have it set to whole note and the secondary setting to 1/4 note. The secondary setting (Hold 'N') is tricky to use. But if I do it, it shows 1/4 note, then when off it goes back to 1/2 note.
