Yesterday I spent the whole day setting up a 'Normal' startup template that I configure as the startup project.
I set up the Project Info, Track descriptions, all the initial Prochannel tracks, my 5 favorite VST synth tracks, custom track icons, screensets, track heights, Control Bar layout etc. etc. All that icky stuff that you do once and forget it.
I had a few crashes doing so - I think 2 or maybe 3. Each time Sonar task could not be killed and the 'Analyze wait chain' showed nothing abnormal. Two threads were running in wmaud.sys, I think, in the ASIO drivers. I did not get a crash dump, but I do have WINDBG installed so it intercepted the crash. '!analyze -v' to get the stack analysis did not give a stack trace - nothing I could interpret, so I disregarded it and restarted. I guess the stack got clobbered.
The crash dump reporter for Cakewalk did not run and no MINIDUMP file was made in C:\Users\<me>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\Minidumps.
The next time this happens I'll investigate more closely.
One thing I noticed is that the new Smart Grip Snap to setting always seem to get reset to 1/2 note. I have it set to whole note and the secondary setting to 1/4 note. The secondary setting (Hold 'N') is tricky to use. But if I do it, it shows 1/4 note, then when off it goes back to 1/2 note.
