I run Vista-64, with ALL updates, on my PC Audio Labs laptop. I haven't changed it because it works. Anyway, I don't know that much about the innards of operating systems, but someone who does told me that the last updates to Vista-64 essentially replaced blocks of it with Win 7 code, and that a fully updated Vista is very much like Win 7.

I see more and more gear that says it doesn't support Vista-64, but my experience has been that if it supports Win 7-64, it will run on my laptop. Again, I make no guarantees, this is purely data you can file under "Well, so far so good."

This is really good to know Craig. I've been debating on getting X2 as I don't want it to just collect dust if it wasn't going to work well on my Vista 32bit sys.....(I'd rather first build a 64bit machine to house X2). This bit of info changes the whole outlook........Thanks!!

Thanks Guys... Based on some of the comments on this thread I've purchased X2 and it seems ok for now. Hope it stays ok

Vista 64 and X2 works very well together. I haven't noticed any performance quirks - actually the opposite - it's robust on my machine.

I upgraded to Windows 7 and love it, I'd never go back to Vista, or Windows 8 for that matter. It's Windows 7 all the way for me.....

I am running x2 on vista 32 bit with curren updates on service pack 2 ... No problems here ...

I imagine within the next year I will migrate on over to windows 8 .... I have a Amd quad with 4 gigs of ram .... (3 point what ever in reality)

Bu everything works great ... So I am in no hurry

By summer - ish 2013 I'll be running windows 8 on a self built super computer I imagine ... I'll take vista to there

Just a tid bit for everyone

I don't know why anyone would refuse to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, but whatever. Vista worked flawlessly for me, too, but I upgraded. Usually, things upgrade very smoothly. Very rarely do things go wrong and, usually it's user error.

I would say the reason is money. Times are tight and lots of folks have no jobs or are under employed. Spending 100 bucks on x2 is one thing .... Spending 200 more to move to windows 7 when windows 8 is supposed to be released in October is another ....

Money don't grow on trees and I just filed bankruptcy

That would be my guess .....

But as you say ....whatever

This is the most optimistic post I've read in a long time.  Nice!
