Mooch, yeah, good point about Windows 8 coming out soon. I'm going to take a guess and say that these same people won't get Windows 8, either. Just a hunch. As far as money, yeah, I understand. I was lucky enough to have a friend that had a family pack of Windows 7 and he offered me one of the upgrades for free, which was nice of him. I didn't realize an upgrade from Vista to W7 was $200. I guess I've gotten spoiled by Cakewalk's upgrade prices! :)

I am not refusing to upgrade to Win 7, I just do not see any point in sending the money and TIME to do it at this stage. I would rather spend the time it would take to reinsall and re-authorise and get everthing set up making music. I will replace my DAW next year and that will be WIN 8, If I get to the point when Vista won't do the job, I will bring that new DAW purchase forward rather than throw money into the old box.

PS -  I bet my old Vista 64 bit out preforms your 32 bit Win 7

I don't know why you care so much about our OS decisions but I build my own machines. I have done so for a very long time. I also know about OSs. Probably more than you do. I have run just about every OS there is or ever has been. I go back before there was DOS. Telling us what to run when you know nothing about us or our machines is presumptuous at the least. And simply bad manners. It is not up to you. Nor is it about money. Its what I in particular wish to do. Hope that meets with your approval.

Um, when did I "tell anyone what O.S. to run"? I just said I couldn't understand why anyone would not want to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. I loved Vista when I had it.... I used to defend it to everyone who spoke negatively about it. But, once I upgraded to W7, I don't know how I ever used Vista. Stable O.S., yes, but W7 kills it. That's what you call an OPINION. I hope that OPINION meets YOUR APPROVAL? Oh, and another point I wanted to make: for people who don't want to upgrade to newer O.S., that's fine. But, don't b*tch when future versions of Sonar don't support it. These companies aren't in businesses to stay back in 2007 with your computer. Their job is to keep up with technology and make the best possible product they can make. Again, is it OK with you that I think this?

Hold off on Win 7 and just get win 8 in October.
It will be a $39.99 USD download if you are a currently registered XP, Vista, or Win 7 user.
I'm running the Release Preview version of win 8 now with no problems on X2.
