Well if you check out the FX not all are installed.

Would those be FX I already had with X1 or new FX? Thanks for the heads up. I'm a little annoyed that wasn't mentioned in the install guides (unless I missed it). Seems like the type of thing that should be printed in BIG BOLD LETTERS. Anyway I'll dig into that later.

Anyway... the registration thing is a little confusing. Not sure if I need to be hooked up to the internet for this. It's saying I must obtain a registration code from the website but I already have it. I'm gonna try it offline and see what happens. "Application is now registered and fully functional". Okay I guess I didn't need to go online. The Quick Start open dialog is detecting all my recent X1 projects so I guess I'm good to go. Opened a project and it looks like it's all there. Now I'm gonna register Rapture then I'll mess with this some more later.

BTW... when typing in the registration code do it manually again and be sure to include the dashes (-). I've got Rapture open now. Punched in the reg code, clicked complete and now it's registered. I have to say all this was surprisingly simple and quick. My X1 install took FOREVER and seems like it was ridiculously complex in comparison. Maybe I'm just more proficient at installing this kind of stuff or Cakewalk really fixed the install process. So there we go. With typing up all my posts here, taking smoke breaks and getting interrupted by house people it took me a few hours. It probably could have been done in under an hour. From some of the posts on the forum I was expecting a nightmare. Freaky. Cheers.

I just opened an X1 project with a ton of effects and all seems well. The effects and Pro Channel setting seem to be correct. I thought maybe I was gonna have to do a bunch of scanning but so far so good. :-)

I'm not seeing TH2 in my startup folder so I guess it isn't a standalone like GR4 was.

If you are looking in the Browser for FX plug ins and can't find one of your old plugs click the drop down menu on the Plug Ins tab at the top of the Browser and change it from "X2 Producer Effects" to Default All Plug-ins. I couldn't find GR5 at first even though it was working in my old project. I found it by doing that. That would have annoyed me if I hadn't figured it out so quickly. Also be sure to Save As BEFORE you start screwing around with any old projects so if you decide to go back to X1 for a while you don't screw up how X1 reads it. I read somewhere on the forum that even if you don't use any of the new effects the take and automation lanes in X2 can confuse X1. So just be careful. Cheers.

I'm not gonna turn this into a TH2 Producer review but just as a heads up the TH2 manual is a little wonky. I think it might be written for the full version of TH2... not the Sonar version. Also it was very poorly edited but so far it's reasonably informative if you switch back and forth between the manual and the actual interface to see the differnces. I thought it would come with more amps but it looks like most of the models reside directly in the Overloud head. scook may be right in that I'll get to itchy in the pants about this and just upgrade. Depends on the tones I get. Cheers.

I'm about to plug in and play around with TH2 so decided to check my X2 in/out preferences. Click Edit > Preferences. As I look through Devices, Driver Settings, Playback and Recording it seems everything is set right where I left it in X1. Cool. No fuss, no muss.

Just had an audio engine dropout changing my interface latency settings with X2 open. This was a new project with 1 track and TH2 inserted into the FX bin. Now I'm not getting any audio input at all. Gonna try closing the project (without saving because I didn;t record anything) and starting a new project.
