I know that this has been brought up many a time about DIM PRO and installation.  I find myself in that same loop where it asks me for a folder, then tells me I don't have the right version, etc...

Does anybody know if CAKE ever put out a document on how to install DIM PRO x64 on your system with an older version on the system already?

I have see many frustrated folks who finally gave up and solved the problem by NOT USING DIM PRO. There are a couple of sample programs that I would like to audition and can't install DIM PRO to do this.

ARGH!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Same problem here. I emailed Cakewalk a few days ago now with no response.

I installed Dim Pro when X1 came out...or before. But I no longer have any version on my machine. Nothing in my registry left.

So I go between "there is an older version on this machine" and "migrate to folder", where I have no dll's left at all. As far as I know, this is an install from scratch.

And I have a new serial number, so it should be a full, clean install.

I checked my user area for 1.2 or whatever to re-install, but the download option is not there for older versions.

OK... I found a DOC in the support section and followed the instructions (required me to do a REGEDIT) but it worked.

Here is the link to the instructions.

Do they have these same instructions for  a clean install of Rapture?

Sooner they update Dimension Pro and Rapture the better. The costs involved to support issues with this functionality, esp for installation and registration would probably far out-way rewriting their installer and registration code. I was really surprised they didn't do anything for X2 here.

Well, I really didn't need Dim Pro but I had issues with it from way back and decided I wanted to get it working for its own sake plus I want to audition a couple of instruments that they have for it for some project work.... I actually need a crappy sounding GRAND PIANO and can't find one that fits the bill yet. I saw the grand instrument in the store and might want to check it out.

Yes, CAKE should fix this installation issue... seems like a larger percentage then normal has had problems with this over the last few years.
