Was/Is there ever some sort of offset for Aim Assist or Snap where you could set Aim Assist to align to a spot in a clip other than the left or right clip boundary?  I've got a legacy project where I thought I saw some sort of lines in some clips that were offset from the left boundary.  I suspect it was a transient marker.

When I saw it I thought it would be cool to be able to temporarily lock the Aim Assist to a spot in a clip by holding down an additional key and allowing you to drag the clip with the Aim Assist in that position.  That would save a few mouse moves if you wanted to align some audio and use a back beat as your target.

This is the way I would like to work too.  Good call Mod!

There is a clip offset marker, or at least I think it's still available, but I don't know whether Aim Assist "sees" it with the right landmark turned on.   Worth a try.

Good one Mod Bod. I would like to see this also.

But I am very grateful that the aim assist has improved. I find it very useful.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Aim Assist.  Like I've said in a previous post, I never seem to be satisfied.

I'll see if I can find that in the online Help.

Do you still have to turn Aim Assist on every time you open a project? I don't even understand why it's not ALWAYS on. How else do people make accurate selections and pastes using the mouse? Whenever you move the cursor in a field where you're editing, you need to know where you are. And speaking of selections. Do we have more options for midi selections in X2? Way back in 1992, Vision by Opcode was allowing us to add unlimited rules to make midi selections. For example, in a dialog box you could select midi notes C4 to F#6, then add a rule to ALSO select notes with a velocity of 127 OR all note velocities EXCEPT 127 OR note velocities BETWEEN 0 and 127, then add a rule to ALSO select notes with a duration of :352 units OR all note durations EXCEPT :352 OR note durations BETWEEN 0 and whatever, and so on. ANY midi variable(volume, pan, expression pedal, velocity, duration, controller, etc.) could be used to make a rule and this was a very powerful tool. This made cleaning up tracks in the event view a breeze!
