hi, there is no DLL ezdrummer in c/programfiles/toontracks. The is a folder called ezdrummer, but no dll. I have tried copying the whole folder but the system wont let me. It says I need permission from the administrator, but when i hit continue i get an error.

have you looked in your plug in manager to make sure sonar is scanning the right folder?

go to preferences(by hitting the P on your keyboard.
go to vst settings,in the top window "vst scan folder(s)
you sould see this line  c/program files/cakewalk/vst plugins.
and also this line.

***you may also have failed to do this
when you ran the update, did you run the 32 bit update and the 64 bit update?
you need to run both.

to make things easier, read the document that came with ez drummer update.
heres an insert from that doc.

"If your computer is running a version of Windows made for 64 bit processors and you intend to use EZdrummer in a 64 bit host, double click the EZdrummer 32 bit Updater  included in this archive and follow the on-screen instructions. Once the process has been completed, double click the EZdrummer 64 bit Updater  included herein and follow the on-screen instructions."

Don't know what country Dermot is in but here in the Uk it's a bank holiday so it might be that he's away and hasn't had time to get back to you Chuck.
Could be any number of reasons.

Seems a bit harsh to put a time constraint on whether or not you're going to help someone.

im only speaking for myself when say this.
ive never started a thread asking for help and when ive seen someone put the effort into helping me,
ive never just ditched it.

maybe we have different morals but i believe if you start a thread, ask for help, you stay with it.
even if it is a "bank holiday"..lol.
and if some reason, you cant...you leave an easy message.

I agree in principle though I wouldn't say it's necessarily a moral issue. It's only two days and he may not have internet access or god knows what.
I see it's his first ever post and he's not posted since so perhaps he's just learning the ropes of netiquette like we all once did.

this kind of thing happens ALL the time.  usually the OP has figured out how to make it work and doesn't return to say so.

if you're helping people in a forum for any amount of time you get used to that sort of thing.

Quite.

It can be frustrating when you think you've helped someone but you're not sure they understood and you never hear back from them.
It's happened to me on many occasions and it's quite possible that I've even done it my self

If the OP does return to thank you then think of him as the prodigal son.
