I really like most of the enhancements and even the changes to X2.  I especially like the left click and drag select and the right click and drag lasso in the TV.  Only thing is my right click and lasso isn't working.  No matter where or how or what I lasso with the right click it selects the entire track when released and not the section I lassoed.  That and the two or three "hangs" I've had while just poking around in X2 says "typical of new version release" to me.  I'm sure it'll all get fixed and so far I think X2 is a winner!

If I remember correctly, Seth demonstrates all the different ways of selecting/lassoing in his most recent video. You should have a look if you haven't already. It might be that in the case of lassoing a section instead of an entire clip, you might need to add a keystroke... maybe alt-right click-drag... or some sort can't remember at the moment.

Best,
Rob

Do you have the clips linked in a selection group?  That would certainly cause what you're explaining.  Right click one of the clips and choose "Remove Selected Clips from Groups."

Actually, these tools are working correctly. I've just verified them in X2 Producer and Studio.

Left Click + Drag on clip(s) = this is a select by time method.

Right Click + Drag = Lasso select the data it touches or encompases.

This is no different than X1 Expanded behavior except that they used to be on opposite mouse buttons. You could possibly be seeing an entirely different behavior though. Can you post a screen capture?

Nope...they are not grouped.  And nope my right click still selects the entire track and NOT just what I lassoed.  Sorry fellers.  And, yes I know I'm a dimbulb, I'll have to have someone show me how to post a screen capture.  And use my Facebook page.  And program my iPhone.  And show me how to "text".  And tell me again why I even have a Facebook page.  Or a Twitter account.  And why things still come in those gawdawful molded plastic containers that no one can open without risking twenty or thirty stitches.  And why we all just can't get along.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot...and why entropy can never be reversed.

Jing (http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html) makes capturing and posting videos to screencast.com very easy.  Worth considering:

Yorolpal..... right click and lasso will select the whole clip that it touches. That's by design I believe

To select time periods of clips use left click and drag across the region and tracks required. That effectively lasso selects even though you don't actually see a lasso as such.
