I'm lazy and unemployed so I let others do the daily grind.

I used to, I got over it. 14 cup maker.. 10 tbsp of Red Diamond or Community with 4 tbsp. of Death Wish. It helps me to grind my teeth. LOL.

Coffee. Have you ever tried an Aeropress? It was invented by a company that makes Frisbees. It makes espresso that rivals a 1k espresso maker and is cheap. It cleans up really easy too. http://www.aerobie.com/product/aeropress/
There are a couple of video links near the bottom of the page, it really is good if you like a good espresso now and then.

Thanks Julien!!

That looks like a nice espresso maker with all the right features I need. My wife & I do enjoy a good cup of (strong coffee) each morning (possibly another in the evening), and if these claim to have the rich flavor we like in a coffee, I'm IN!!

Any downsides to using this?

Yes but our coffee machine went up in a big flash and some smoke a couple of weeks back, manufacturer is currently reviewing it as it looks like it is either a design fault or a manufacturing error.

Black and Decker, with a scoop of Folgers works great for me.

I enjoy making good coffee, and protect my little space in the kitchen furiously.  I have a Rancilio Rocky grinder (non-doser, as that's pointless imo), and a Gaggia Classic machine with replacement steam wand from a Rancilio Silvia which allows me to make proper lattes for Mrs 'Wood'.  For dosing I use some micro scales.  Break up the grinds with an opened out paperclip, a decent tamp and then good to go.

Spent a while trying different coffees, including Square Mile and a few other specialists.  In the end I've ended up either with Fortnum and Mason (Connoiseur blend - which is expensive and only for Christmas), or a couple from Waitrose.  Never had much luck with Single Origin espresso and prefer blends.

Hi,

They have the grinder at Fred Meyer's or Safeway's around here ... so they grind my choice of decaf ... no biggie! It's too messy to have one at home!

None if you like espresso. For coffee I'd use a French press. You know that the lighter the roast, the more caffeine there is. Also Robusta beans have more caffeine than Arabica beans. Death Wish is better than I thought it would be, it is mostly Robusta. I always thought darker roast meant stronger but no...
You won't get a better espresso than the Aeropress and it is cheap!

Hmmmmm espresso! Used to have the Gaggia with the Silvia wand and programable temp control modification. Now I have a ECM with a Vario grinder. Love that espresso every day!
Wood67: you might want to try RedBird Coffee. I buy 5 lbs at a time and freeze. Let it rest for about 6-8 days for the best brew.
