  • At this point would you guys say X2 is as stable or more stable than X1? (p.6)

Yeah, I've been pretty psyched about it but I didn't want to blow anything up or impede my learning process. I'm feeling pretty confident about it now. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!! ;-)

I'd say based on my four or five crashes (two in a row today!) that X2 64-bit on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit is less stable for me than X1. I called X2 flakey and fully expect to see the first patch likely within a month's time based on the amount of issues folks are reporting on the forum.

My two most recent crahes were totally bizarre: I clicked on the ProCh tab of the Master and then clicked the Master in the Console view and X 2 crashed. This happened twice in a row.

Hi Beep,

Although I would say that X1, with its d patch, was pretty stable for me, and X2 has crashed a couple of times over the weekend, this does not phase me at all. As John has said, for a first release, X2 is a pretty good piece of software.

I reckon that over the last three days it has gone through the mill with loads of peeps here pushing it to the limits with hundreds of different soft synths and effects, so I think the number of glitches coming to the surface is to be expected, in my opinion.

And X1 is still working fine for me, by the way.

X1 was so bad that I went to another DAW.  X2 is so good (so far) that I hope to be selling that other DAW soon.

I'm even using X2 with the beta OS5 for my Virus TI2 and haven't had it crash yet.

It appears that I am only able to import audio from the browser, which is OK, but that the 'import audio' from the top drop down menus freezes Sonar (everytime) is not too good.

edit: it's working again now

So far X2 hasn't crashed on me once, and that on both of my systems

X1 did seem a little "fragile" at times.

So far X2 has been solid, no issues. Same with X1 though, so far both the same as far as stability goes.
