  • Cannot deselect Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver

In the X2 preferences, Audio|Sync and Caching|Record Latency Adjustment (samples), I have two options. The first is Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver (1 in, 1 out); the second is M-Audio Delta ASIO (4 in, 3 out). I believe the generic driver was put on my system by Cubase 6.  The problem is, X2 will not let me select my Delta driver. I select it and save; when I go back the generic driver is still being used.  Does anyone know how to change this?

I'm not sure it matters; I thought my latency was a little high (46.x), but I reduced my hardware samples from 2048 to 512 (11.5) and things seem better so far.

I'm having a little trouble with stuttering during playback (even at 2048) and I'm trying to correct that.

Are you referring to the manual offset figure? If so I think you'll find that just reads whichever driver is selected which can only be one in ASIO mode.

Selecting the one you want and changing settings should stick though even if it doesn't display it as such. I'm not sure if it's a bug or by design but it has never seemed to make any difference to whether the actual value is correct or not.

Not the Manual Offset field, but the actual Device field, which is a drop-down field.  It doesn't seem to matter, now that I've reduced the latency by changing the sample buffer in the hardware driver itself.

I've been watching some of your YouTube tutorials and I have your whole X1 video; nice work.  Looking forward to your X2 series.  Thanks.
