In about 20 minutes of playing with it I've gotten it to blow up twice. Once doing the highly difficult task of "opening the piano roll".

Sigh, always the case with new software. Off go the bug reports.

I haven't had a single one. must be you or your computer.

Sorry I'm only kidding. When X1 was released that was all I could say for months because that's all it did.

I wouldn't quite call your event a bug though. Can you create a recipe that will always result in it crashing. And BTW when you say it's blown up what is it exactly that you're describiing.
I see you have joined the forum in May this year and have X1D installed. Have you been using X1 successfully?

You PC specs look fine. Are you over clocking? Maybe dial it back if you are. try different buffers. M-Audio 2496 wouldn't be my choice for a sound card but if it's been stable with X1D then I guess that's that.

Ya X1 worked fine. Opening the Piano Roll seems to be a recipe for a crash. It's automated utility has sent off the information to Cakewalk so they can sift through it.

I used X2 all evening vocal recording session. Really like Breverb. Jury is still out on a couple of other changes. Not sure if I like each take having its own lane in a channel. Sometimes I liked it, sometimes i didn't. I do like having the track/clips automation is seperate lanes.

Had 1 crash, but i had the same kind of crash in X1 and even 5.Sound card related. rebooted and all was well. So far so good. Rmix is pretty cool. Will be exploring that soon. Disappointed in TH2, really wish it has SOME presets. I can understand not having all, but a few would have been nice. Guitar Rig lite even came with a few.  Overall I am pleased with X2 so far.

Tried it here (I hadn't opened it before seeing this), I couldn't get it to crash opening PRV.

I've had it running ever since I installed it and apart from deliberately closing it it's been rock solid and running for about 6 hours.

I have to admit I've never had such a stable first version. Even pre X1 I could make SONAR crash if I did some silly stuff like moving screens around too much and opening and closing plugins and moving and opening windows and dialog boxes. But this is solid.

Good for you mudgel- you deserve a solid release this time!

I'm able to crash this one but it's as you say- doing silly things, and in my case doing multiple silly things almost simultaneously.

I've sure been getting a lot of random crashing under XP (it seems to install and basically work however, which is a bonus) - haven't tied it to a particular situation yet, but I'm testing as I try to get a track mixed. I'll be using it a lot more on Win7, so it will be interesting to see if the bugs are common to both or discrete...

Hi guys -
I'm sorry to hear about these crashes. I would like to ask that you make sure to send over the crash logs when the Fault Reporter pops up. This will allow us to start debugging and fix these issues. Writing in comments to describe what you were doing helps us a lot, but isn't required.

Sad to hear about your troubles, I hope you get it resolved and that you are an exception. I'll be waiting on the demo if I upgrade at all. All I really care about is that core features work, and of course I'd like to see customizations put back in the program by X3 - otherwise Sonar 8.5.3 forever (or brand X). I could care less about Broverb or any other effects - way too much focus on this add on junk by Cake in my opinion. I'd rather have a stable program and hand select effects I actually want or need.
