Installed X2 today.
Everything seems to be runnig OK except that when I open X2 I get a screen with the following message: " Cannot open MASTER.INS, no instrument definition will be available."
I press OK and I can now get into the program seemingly without a problem as I have brought up X1 project and started a new one in X2 with GR4 and with what I have done everything again seems OK.

Does anyone know what this message means?

Thank's in advance for your help and support.

Did you delete X1 before you installed X2 or did you delete anything after you installed X2? Particularly instrument definition files

I did not delete X1, but after downloading X2 and having problems installing, before reading the forum info, I deleted all the X2 downloads and re-downloaded them later.
After adding the EXE suffix as instructed I was able to install X2.
But as I explained originally I get the above message whenever I open X2.

Did find a solution in a thread. Press Shift key when starting X2. Fixes this problem for me at least.

Hi Gerry1943,

It's actually more of a user personalization issue than an install issue. Very easy solution.

Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard when launching SONAR X2. Click [OK] to the message "SONAR will now personalize your user settings...". In the background it should copy over your MASTER.ins file to your local user directory.

Let us know if that helps or if you're still getting the message.

EDIT: I guess I should read the full thread before replying ;). Thanks ErikDeluxe

Can I uninstall my two previous versions of Dimension Pro and all the expansion packs (1,2, and 3)  I really need to free up some space.

I also have the full version of Rapture.  Can I remove that?

Will X2 find all my Groove Monkey loops etc that I added to X1 and 8.5.  Want to be sure I don't lose any of the content I have installed over the years.

Thanks,
JD

Yes, but they don't take up any space. If that little hard drive space helps, its time for a new and bigger hard drive

Do you have seperate drives for:
1. Programs (SONAR)
2. Audio (CWP & Per Project Folders
3. Samples

You should at least have #1 and 2

Thank's. Holding down the SHIFT key on launch seems to have solved this problem.
