Just found out that the metronome can now be toggled on the fly while recording!

Or did everyone already know?

Hallelujah.  I'm not MIke, but man that drove me bonkers.  Can it be automated, too?  Pretty please?

Good News!

Is that new for X2 or was it in a prior update?

Good news either way!

Thanks for the heads up.

best regards,

X2 all the way!

That's one of TONS of little tweaks you'll find that make the X2 experience more "comfy."  A few of my favorites:

  • 10 buttons that show which is "active" in the Screenset Control Bar Module
  • Per-clip default views on MIDI Clips, with automatic conversion between Step Sequencer and PRV
  • Screenset changes are included in View Undo/Redo (ALT+Z/ALT+SHIFT+Z)
  • QuadCurve EQ click-drag-able nodes (with Q on right-click-drag)
  • Dragging a single plug-in from the browser to the Producer ProChannel automagically creates a new FX Chain
  • Time Ruler Zoom stops scrolling during playback if the now time leaves the screen - but keeps scrolling otherwise.  Right-click the Time Ruler Zoom area to re-enable scrolling.
  • Alternate Snap Settings by holding down the N key
    • Use Case:  Snap by measures while arranging clips.  Set your alternate settings to 8ths.  Now if you need to adjust something more granularly than a whole measure, you hold N, make the adjustment, release.  This is better than disabling snap, because you still get the benefit of snapping, just with higher resolution.
    • Another Use Case:  Editing in the PRV at 16th note resolution with 16th triplet as an alternate setting allows you to draw/edit triplets easily on command
    • CTRL+SHIFT+N swaps the “Primary” and “Alternate” settings.

Beepster
Oh that's good. There are lots of little things in X1 that made me think "well... why is it like that?" and from what's being said a ton of that stuff has been fixed. Still holding off on the install at the moment but I'm very much looking forward to these enhancements. Cumulatively I think they are going to make for one happy Beepster. Really though... as soon as I saw the take lanes I was sold.

Thanks for the detailed info. Very helpful. One user had reported the Time ruler zoom as a bug. Just didn't have a clear understanding of the feature.

Where was that? Maybe I can help explain.

I think it was worked out as the thread has moved off the front page. I figured what he was experiencing was a feature he didn't fully understand. If I come across the thread I'll link it back to you.
