Andrew and all the other fine Bakers:

I can't understand why anyone might feel that the X2 upgrade isn't worth the asking price.  Sonar is, IMO, by far the best bang-for-buck DAW on the market.  X2 only solidifies this position.  Congratulations on the successful rollout, and best of luck in the future!

Cheers,
Eddie
I totally agree :)

Thanks for the endorsement.

Hey Andrew and all the Cakewalk staff,

you've done a brilliant job here with X2, and the upgrade price is way beyond just "good value" ... it's a steal.

I find it hard to fathom how anyone could think this upgrade may not be worth it.
I'd happily pay double, maybe more ... but then you'd probably have to increase the retail to make it look better :-)

But seriously,  the producer version is such awesome value, I'm sure there will be a big bubble of growth in your customer base with this release.

I haven't had time to play with everything as yet, and I already owned TH2 full, Rapture full etc.

Right now I'm in "Automation Heaven", just finishing off a project I'd started in X1.
Running smooth as could be, I couldn't be happier :-)

Cheers - Cliff

I haven't had much time with it but man I'm liking it and the cost...
well that's a no brainer.

Just really glad to have it and just need more time with it.

Aces bakers...thank you!

I have to agree with Eddie and Cliff. I liked X1 a lot but even though it is early as far as me having a complete picture of it, it is simply outstanding.

I also like the look of the time line. So many of the small things have been attended to.

Reading whats new in sonar x2 in the online documentation I found this under Other enhancements

Gapless operation when moving loop points, inserting effects, and inserting and replacing synths.

Optimized MIDI input timing results in improved Arpeggiator timing and real-time soft synth playing.

Browser preview stays synchronized with the Matrix.

Support for ReWire 64. For details, see ReWire.

I have to agree with you folks as well. X2 is an excellent release with fantastic content and features. If you can't get a good mix with the stock plugins of X2 then it's not the software that needs work. The upgrade price is extremely fair considering what you are getting. Think about how much some plugins cost, Sonar is an excellent value for sure. I'm 100% satisfied with it.

It's sounding pretty awesome. I'm not installing right away myself but that's more out of laziness/not wanting to go through another boring install just yet. Hoping to close out my tester track in the next couple of days. I'll probably install right after that.

The installation is a long but painless process. I was installing and watching video on the same computer, that's how I tackle the boring process of installation. That's my 1 cent worth of advice. LOL

From clicking on the part 1 install to opening X2 for the first time took me just fifteen minutes. That included the extraction process. I can only assume it was because I use SSDs?

Once X2 was installed I had to go back and install Rapture and I also spent a bit of time getting all of my plugs recognised but that's not so boring as such because I'm concentrating on what I'm doing.

Personally I'm quite blown away by the value. I would probably have upgraded just on the strength of UI and engine improvements, and if I had any hesitation any one of the included extras (R-Mix, Breverb, TH2, console emu) would probably have put it over the edge; all 4 of them (plus Rapture, although I already had that) make it, umm, a no-brainer's no-brainer... as it were...

Cakewalk hit this one out of the park. The enhanced audio engine and workflow enhancements were easily worth the cost to me. I will be using the console emulation for most tracks and buses from now on. Still haven't got around to using the TH2 Sonar or Breverb sonar. Both look great and I will be checking those out more closely over the next week.

Great job! Much respect!
