+1 on thanks from me too. I came back in from the cold, Roland VS880/1880 then Logic Pro. X1 was good, but, the new X2 stuff takes it to a whole new level of use. Some bugs showing, but, I am sure they will be squished :).

I think this is the least "bells and whistles"-powered SONAR upgrade yet. Which is an awsome thing, of course...

Ive had a chance to test X2 out a little. I checked the LP plugins I was never able to use them in the past because of glitching when adjusting a parameter. That is fixed.

The audio engine seems nearly bullet proof. The multi- core usage is far better.

Overall this release so far is outstanding.  No previous first release has ever been this bug free. I'm not saying there are no bugs I am saying I haven't run across any yet.

The changes are well thought out. This is a killer app. CW has a winner.

There is no way for me to know how your system will work with X2 but if you can this is the version to get.

Oh I was playing with R-Mix a little.  A really fun addition to Sonar. Endless possibilities there. BTW don't think this is a toy it isn't.

In very limited usage so far I have to agree. X2 seems like a very stable and much improved DAW over X1 - and I got along mostly just fine with X1. The overall integration of the tools (like Snap in differing views) is awesome.

And while I don't get the feel that any one tool is the thing that really gets me going the overall feel of solidity and transparency is really awe inspiring.

To me it seems like the engine that CW created in X1 is now the big engine that can...with grace.

Bravo Cakewalk!!!

This its well said. I fully agree.

BTW this thread was aimed at the CW employees. Some one on another thread made mention of this by saying it is premature. Thanking the people that worked on this product and got it out deserves a thank you.

I'm watching all the CW people on this forum answering questions providing information some are doing this on their own time.

We here often take CW for granted to a degree. We sometimes need to remind ourselves that the people behind CW are real humans that are no different from ourselves. They too have all the emotions and setbacks that we are subject to. It can't hurt to give them a pat on the back from time to time if only to express our shared humanity.

I started this thread only to let the employees know that we appreciate their hard work in order for us to have an outstanding program.  I couldn't be happier for them knowing they have done it! Its the pride of creation and its a good thing.

John: I write software for a living and like you I seem to be sensing a pride in what I've been reading from CW and the two videos CW produced (the Webinar and the quick and dirty one they just put out).

As a dev I think that sense that I'm getting is spot on and *very* well deserved by CW employees. They went through some tough spots with X1 and to me X2 just seems like the icing on that cake. (pun intended)
