Try a "Save As" ??

In the save as version try deleting stuff until it allows you to pan that damn bus

blimey! there must be a way to sort this out man!

But not for me. My lids are closing and I've got to shut down for the night. Good luck and I'll call in tomorrow hoping you've got it fixed.

Yeah... thanks for trying, synkro. I think I'm gonna have to call support. I can risk having this happen again so I need to get it figured out. Sadly it's long distance for me to call them and I'm sure in light of the release of X2 I'll be on hold forever. Not a happy Beep right now.

I had a strange instance of no panning. Plus, Rmix on the master bus showed all the lights crowded on the left edge, even though the sound was centered. I couldn't figure it out. I did not make any changes to the project and I did not save it. I closed Sonar and restarted with the same project, and suddenly everything was normal. I wonder if I had saved the project it would have become permanently corrupted like yours.

Oh no... that doesn't sound good. If that's what happened it must have gotten corrupted right at the start because I tried a really early version. I'm gonna try the absolute first version and see if that's any better. Maybe it didn't like the stereo drum track that I made in BFD as a standalone... but I could have sworn I was able to pan at one point. This is my first real song with Sonar. I love the program and all but this not a good way to start off. However it is more than likely something I screwed up so I'm not gonna blame it on Sonar... yet.

I'm sure this is completely daft Beepster but you are outputting in stereo aren't you? I don't mean to insult your intelligence in asking that, but I'm sure I remember having a similar issue myself at one time, and it turned out to be because of something as simple as this.

Well this is just great. The very first version is panning so somewhere along the way something happened and I've been working with a screwed up project file without knowing it. GAH!

@Steve... It really should be but could you elaborate a bit and I'll check it out. Like I said the first version is panning properly and I really don't think I've changed any input/output settings since then.

Maybe you have a project to send to CW for troubleshooting. Mine was not reproducible.

That sounds like a good idea.   Even if it was user error, there are obviously a few folks here that haven't been able to figure it out and could probably use that information!

@bvideo... It's in X1 so I'm not sure they'll look at it. I was gonna hold off a bit before installing X2 (bought and downloaded) but maybe that will fix it. For now I'm just gonna compare everything from this first version of the project to my current one to see if I can find anything.
