@Bill... Yeah, nice indeed. You just saved my project from myself. Can't believe I did that. I mean they are KIND of similar looking buttons but I should have known better. This is what I get for bouncing around all the resource material instead of doing it in a linear fashion. ADD for the win! Thanks again. ;-)

The full extent of my failure is now starting to sink in. I've been mixing and applying effects in mono the whole time. *facepalm*

Glad this was resolved!

It's really appreciated, Andrew. Sorry it was something so silly. I'm new to Sonar and this is all being done on brand new gear so I just didn't notice it. A very valuable lesson for sure. It's nice to know you guys even have the backs of us n00bs. Cheers.

Hey Beepster,  happy for you man.

FYI... No pro would ever call you a nOOb.   Anyone who has been around has done the same sorta thing and knows better,

'cause the next issue is waiting right around the corner for themselves.   I don't want to even touch this issue myself (how many times!)

just remember, "try the simple things first"

Thanks for the kind thoughts but this was very much a lack of knowledge and rushing myself through the education process. Seriously I didn't even really know what that button did until now. I remember wondering why the heck the master bus had an input echo but turned it off anyway. Now here's a question for ya'll... should ALL my buses have the stereo interleave button on? I was just looking in the X1 Power book and couldn't really find anything at first glance. Perhaps I should turn it on for buses that I'm sending stereo tracks to but not for mono tracks? It's moments like these that make me realize no matter how much time I spend with my head in the manuals and scouring the forum it's all gonna come down to learning from my mistakes. Not deterred or perturbed though. I'm just glad this forum is here. If I was back on Nuendo I doubt I'd be anywhere near where I'm at now. SO if I haven't said it enough... you guys rock.

There ya go Beep... I knew it would be sorted before I woke up lolz. As silly as it may have looked, it's so easy to do something like that.

On with the project then ;-)

I had the same thing happen to me in X1 a few times... Interleave stereo/mono button being activated to Mono.... all by itself when the project opened.  I still have no idea why it would do this on a couple of tracks only.  Drove me nuts until I noticed the button.  So I learned to look at the button.  LOL
Good post.

It was good to open the forums this morning and see this thread set to Resolved.

Congrats Beep!  Glad to see the mystery is resolved.  We have all done something similar.  I have also done the interleave switch head scratching.  And I love it when I tweak an EQ to perfection - only to find that it wasn't enabled.

Nice to see somebody keep at it and find the answer rather times when we get some angry person who *KNOWS* whatever they are having problems with is a Sonar problem and that the software is a POS.  They don't get much sympathy or help around here.  With you and your approach it was very different and you got a LOT of people trying to help.  And even those of us that remained silent were pulling for you.
This is a great forum with the most friendly and helpful people you will find anywhere - if you don't come in with a chip on your shoulder and an attitude.
