Maybe an advantage of the online would be that forum users can post links to helpful content.

SONAR X2 Documentation currently comes in two flavors. The version hosted on our site here: http://www.cakewalk.com/documentation

This comes up by default when pressing F1.

This is completely new to X2 and our website as of today. If you guys see any weirdness with the doc, would like to see a section expanded upon, or even if you just found something helpful, you can submit feedback directly to us now so we can turn things around much faster. You can also more easily share topics with others as long as they have an internet connection. Lastly, if the doc isn't translated into your native language, you can take advantage of the Google Translate script present on the page. It might not provide a perfect translation, but hopefully it will help some folks who don't speak the languages we typically translate to as well as their own.

The other flavor is the standard .chm version that you're all probably very used to. You can get to by going to Start > All Programs > Cakewalk > SONAR X2 > SONAR X2 Help.chm. As mentioned above, you can also toggle the "Always use offline help" setting under Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced if you wish F1 to bring you to the .chm instead of our website.

Hosted to the site "http://www.cakewalk.com/documentation " is ok, BUT it is linked always to the english site. It would be nice if for example a german user get linked to the german documenation site directly. This is not implemented yet.
Any improvements planned?

The web help is hosted on the main Cakewalk.com web site. However, depending on which language you used the install X2, launchin help from within X2 will open the corresponding web help in the matching language (English, French, or German; other languages will default to English).

The X2 help defaults to online web help, but will automatically revert to offline help if no Internet connection is detected. You can also choose to always use offline help.

Oops, I missed this. Thanks, that's helpful, and answers the offline-daw issue. I'm sure they'll be a help file update at some point, probably in the first point release.

Yes, we will eventually post updated CHMs to match the latest web help. The web help can be updated and deployed much faster, so we recommend you always check the web help for the latest documentation.

Thanks,
